Re: Flip op miscutting
ALWAYS on weekends and ALWAYS when you have a deadline to meet. I got so frustrated I just shut it down and will go back at it tomorrow afternoon. I know we can make the adjustment but actually have 2 questions: 1) Don't we actually have to make 1/2 of the .125 adjustment?? Just checking my thinking...

Flip op miscutting
We successfully were cutting flip operations a couple days ago. Then have been running a series of jobs without flip ops. Now back to flip op job and the X axis is off and flip ops are coming out wrong. See pictures. Y axis appears to be correct. You can see the dado is too long on one side leaving ...

pocket Clean up Help
I am needing to make a lid that lays in the top. I can do it on eCabs and it does cut it but it does not clean up the edges so that the lid fits. I created a pocket over the cutout with a different radius corner so it has a catch. I have emailed Thermwood but thought this might get me a quicker answ...

Thanks, Brad.
On TW On-line Store they have In-Groove insert engraving system in the sign making section. Does this work to do marquetry, inlays, veneers, etc.?

Drag Knife
Since Shop Bot can do this, can our CS40 do this? Donek Drag Knife to cut veneer. What do we need to do to use this on our machine? New software?

Re: Cutting Solution
Thanks Daniel and Scott. I think I am going to go to MasterCam. Giving up on eCabs for this one. We even tried faking the computer into thinking the 45 degree cutter was a dao tool with 0.010 diameter and creating a pocket on edge with 0.010. No go.

Cutting Solution
We have a series of parts that have mitered edges and we build them that way on eCabs and then the program wants to build a "Cutting Solution" to make the 45 degree edge by taking a small diameter bit and multiple passes stepping up and over and forming the edge. It is slow but it works wi...

Re: Leaving skin along edge during outline
Ian, we see this from time to time. Biggest reason we can find is that the operator gets sawdust between the waste board and spoil board and then when we flycut, it makes the top board too thin, then we clean out the dust and now the sheet is low on the edge. Other cause can be if the table doesn't ...

Re: Edge banding the waste board??
We use exterior house paint on the edges of our spoil and waste boards. Works well for us plus is easily machined if we resize/flycut the board.

Re: Invalid character in EIA block
The message has now changed to "the plc program in the control did not respond to the tool change request!!! Push E-stop, then NC-reset twice and home machine. If that does not help, contac tThermwood Tech Services."

I am 7 sheets into a job and I jsut got this error message. It is in the middle of a tool change and the head is straight up from the last operation and is calling for tool change. But I am DOWN right now and cannot clear this error. I looked at the forum and it said it was a non-closed comment but ...

Re: I need a Geometry Lesson
Kerry, if this is a true arc, you can certainly find the panel size if you know the chord length and the rise. From those two you can find the radius, then the circumference, then you can determine the % of the circumference you are using and get the length of the panel. But I maybe don't fully unde...

We are doing a bar area for a HUGE Notre Dame fan/alum/.... Does anybody know where there might be ND stuff to include in the bar design? We can get decals and stuff from ND fan page, etc but wondering if anybody knows or makes or wants to make the ND mascot as a corbel for holding up the bar overha...
