Hi Steve,
I am sending the file right now. You will receive an e-mail with attached link. Use it to download then extract and install. I hope you have WinRar or similar. If not just download one that recognizes .rar extension.

Re: V6.4 download & 5.2 extension
Steve, there has not been issues with migrating cabinets and jobs from V5 to V6. I have tried it on pretty big and complex jobs and they got cut the same way as with V5. It's really your call. Sooner or later you are going to have to move to V6 as we have. Currently V6.4 is pretty stable and I think...

Re: Create Part From Closed Contour
Never mind. It seems there was something wrong with the file because I imported it from Mastercam. Sensitive eCabinets. I redrew it in Autocad and it worked.
Thank you.
Thank you.

Create Part From Closed Contour
Hi Guys,
if it's not a big problem can you test the dxf that I have attached and see if you can create a part in any material. I can create a pocket from the part but can't cut out the part itself. It's getting kind of frustrating.
Let me know what you find. Thank you

Re: Help with Graphics Card
It doesn't really work with Shift+Left-Click. It's not even jerky, it's impossible to move. If I go to render mode I can't move with mouse click at all. Only the side buttons. Thermwood can probably improve the speed of CL once most of the major cutting and design bugs are fixed. One step at a time ...

Re: Help with Graphics Card
Kerry,
It was almost impossible to rotate with the mouse. Using the buttons provided on the side it was fairly easy and fast. Zoom, rotate and angle worked easy. No jerk whatsoever.
Looking at your specs you have better video than mine - much better. So it must be something else.

The active members are much less than that. I wonder how come though. Do they never need help? Or may be they keep doing the same thing only they don't push themselves and their boss doesn't either.
Still, it's a pretty active forum.

Re: Cross grain
That's probably the only way to do it. I never needed to do anything like that before but we have some cross grain material leftover from paneling job and now I want to use it.
I was sure though that there would be a way to cheat the machine at the CN. Smart Thermwoods, what can I say!

Re: Cross grain
I did and the nest diagram doesn't look very promising. I also tried to add sheet but even I selected "Y" as grain direction it would not add the sheet.
Any other advise?

Cross grain
How do you nest a crass grain sheet? Meaning if the sheet is 48"x 96" but the grain runs along the 48".
I am sure there is a ways around I am just too lazy or dumb (pick one) to figure it out.

Quantity Issue
Hi Guys, I have exploited the limits of CN5.58 and I managed to get it in trouble and eventually crash it. I always thought that overall cabinet quantity should overwrite the part quantity. If you select that you need x amount of that part in a cabinet that you want y times, you automatically get y ...

Re: CN load rounding to 6 or 7 digits after decimal point
One machine nested fine the other stop responding. I think 30 min is enough time for it to do the job. Done on CN 5.57. Don't know what the difference between the two is but the one that wouldn't do it freezes after the final sheet is written on Nesting progress. Have no clue

CN load rounding to 6 or 7 digits after decimal point
I have experienced some long rounding showing in control nesting. I am not sure that this might be the reason but sometimes I get no response from CN. Shop Bot and Cn show difference in number rounding when loading the same job. I don't really want to experiment but I will try and load in on some of...

Re: anyone using a Solid state drive yet???
You are right Michael. We need to mention what machines we are running. I don't think I will be getting out of memory any time soon. We bought both our machines 3 years ago and 1 1/2 ago so they are fairly new. Lots of disk space and processor is probably faster than on your. One think I likes about...

Re: anyone using a Solid state drive yet???
I don't mess with something as important as the CNC. If something is working fine don't fix it.
