Mixing jobs in nesting
I was wondering how other firms overcome the mixing of jobs. For example, same client but Kitchen, two bathrooms and a laundry cabinets. My staff are saying its a nightmare to sort the parts to rooms then per cabinet so they prefer to cut one room at a time. To me, more parts better recovery of mate...

Re: A cardboard box
We also do flat pack jobs but we havent worked out how big to make the box till everything is packed.
Is there software that can work out the size of the crate and weight.
If you could share your proceedure for making these boxes that would be of interest.
Regards
Neville

Blum TandemBox slide including the 10mm front fixing holes
Hi Everyone, I am just changing from Hettich drawers to Blum and was wondering if someone is willing to send there drilling patterns for Blum TandemBox slide including the 10mm front fixing holes. It would be good to have a system that has been fine tuned on actual cabinets. We do the euro / framele...

Hi Mark, Just having a swipe at the Forrest place coffee shop experence. I think that got massive news coverage. Have been advertising for tradesman but being where we are located you either want a sea change or your trying to hide from someone. Can tell you a few stories on that last option. ...

Re: Beaded panels in doors.
Hi Kerry, Yes I might have to talk to Brad. The feature I would like is the machining of hinges and drawer mounting plate to be done and handles drilled. These are done manually by us with a different door program so I can do these door patterns but can't automate it as far as I would like. I will h...

Re: Beaded panels in doors.
I would be interested in manufacturing these. Can the hinge holes and handle holes also be drilled from Ecabinets Data. The drawer fronts cut with patterns to match doors and drilled to suit metal sided drawer fittings? Once again from Ecabinets data?

Re: YouBuild status
RIP Well thats sad as I would liked to have gotten involved in that. I wonder how it would work being web based instead of at a shop front? There is a couple of firms here in Australia who sell mainly to cabinetmakers not retail clients who have a online cabinet ordering system the same as youbuild....

YouBuild status
I have been interested in how the YouBuild concept would work but there doesn't seem much information on the forum since 2012? Is the program still running and has it been sucessful? I was hoping may have expanded to Australia if it was going well.

Re: Cut centre doors
Thanks Josh for the input. I had hoped this cut centre would have been a shift in position with door profiling which does require direct control of the tool path rather than modelling for fast product production. With our current software it can take a hour to cut 8 recessed pattern doors 720 by 450...

Re: Cut centre doors
Thanks Josh with your offer. We use another door program that fits in with the Thermwood creating direct G code. It would be good if it came from Ecabinets though so the label and optimising is done by the control. The door designs we use are like this. http://modernformdoors.com.au/door.htm design ...

Re: Cut centre doors
Hi Josh, We did try out modelling to do a square raised panel look door 300mm by 300mm in mdf a few years back which I think took over a hour. To do a full kitchen set that might take us 3 days so we gave it a miss. Surely Cut centre would not take that long as who could afford to use it? Maybe afte...

Cut centre doors
I was reading the Thermwood blog on the new cut centre. I was wondering if any of those features were going to be ported into Ecabinets? The one that interests me is the mdf door option stated as being "MDF doors are high-end designs that replicate quality five piece doors. They are made using ...

Re: CNC Cutters
Hey Jason you better not write that advert. I have had a few tools work for me over the years but not sure if they would make good cutter salesman? Marius best of luck with a better source of product supply. We have paid high dollars for tooling over the years to find a lower cost one out performs i...

Re: Cabinetshop 43 or 45?
Hi Greg, We have a mtr with a dill head. At one stage we were having alignment issues so were forced to use the one head to do all things till we found the issue. I say we'd save about 10 to 15 % of time with the drill head. Kerry is right though if your volume is low and your machine is idle for a ...
