Re: inefficient drilling

Lorin... #1) Edit your blum pattern to only the holes that you use. From 10 to 4 should be a good time saving. #2) I dont think that you can change the order that holes are drilled. The algorithm only takes into account the distance to the closest hole. Not the extra distance traveled to return and ...

Re: Now that the dust has settled, How do you like V6?

Looks like I am with the majority here as I think V6 is an improvement over V5. My wishlist leans on the side of machining especially as it applies to hole patterns and where and how they can be placed and or modified. All in all, I think the programming crew is doing a good job improving the softwa...

Re: Rafix with Dados?

Sean... I agree completely. The Rafix requires a slide action to set the fastener that is at a right angle to that required to place a tenon in the dado. The two, should not be able to coexist. My point was, that if, at a programming level, they were allowed to coexist, then we could then use a sing...

Re: Rafix with Dados?

Joe.... Personally, I don't. I do however, have a request from a client, as my post says above, for small registry dados and pocket screws. Pocket screws, not Rafix. I wanted to change the hole pattern to an oval from the standard rafix pattern. These dados would be 1/4 or 3/16 wide by the same dept...

Re: Rafix with Dados?

Nat... Of course I can think of cases for both. Selected in the case of a finished end cabinet and all in the case of a flatpack. Using modified hole patterns I would like to use either Rafix or pocket screws depending on the client Sean... Yes, it would be more than good. It seems we were given alm...

Rafix with Dados?

I think I know the answer to this, but had to ask. I would like to apply the parametric abilities of the included rafix, with a pocket screw hole pattern for example, along with small dados for registry, to meet a potential customers specs. Anyone have a method or workaround for this, or something l...

Re: Name of cabinet in batch

We have run into this in the past, but I thought I screwed something up. We were given a plan and box sizes etc. When the installers got to the job, none of the boxes were named or numbered the same as their paperwork. It took a trip to the site to translate. So, is there a way to take a generic see...

Re: Shop Bot link work with other routers?

Tim... My other post was obviously brief, by design. I wished to let this thread steep a little before I did give a reply. As an experienced ShopBot owner, and a ShopBot Link trainer, I wonder who it was that told you that SB was "inferior". I doubt it was one of the 5000 plus owners using...

Re: Drawer Front Fixing Bracket Holes for Metal Sided Drawers

Kerry...
As a woodworker, I feel the same as you, but my clients dissagree. Most of our work spec'ed by designers has Metabox draws. Not my favorite, but it beats sitting around taIking about how many wooden draw boxes I used to make.

Re: Explode Cabinet Acts Differently?

Rick... Thanks for the explanation. My guess was right on the whens. I was a little off on the why. I may be off on my reasoning, and I surely have nothing but the utmost of respect for Ken and his opinions, but there are so few instances when we "cutters" would even want to display a draw...

Explode Cabinet Acts Differently?

Has anyone else noticed this? There seems to be a disproportionately greater distance taken by the lateral movement compared to vertical. Seems to have happened in Build 3. I am not sure, but it seems to make my normal hole & dado visual audit more difficult, if not impossible without hiding par...

Re: Drawer Slide Front Mounting Hole - Incorrect Orientation

An item that has not been mentioned, but is related to this thread would be to be able to spec a "no cut" possibly wireframe drawbox that would have a toggled visibility. Cut and Buy lists would have proper sizing for those who outsource or build in house on non CNC equipment. Hole pattern...
