Well Michael Murray, You got me there well at least the part about walking away. About 26 years ago coming back from what was touted as Woodstock II at Hammonasset (http://www.friendsofhammonasset.org) Beach State Park, in Connecticut. My head met a guard rail and my body left about 60-70% of my ski...

Anyone cut Hickory on their CNC?
Hey everyone, I was just checking to see if anyone has cut parts out of 1\" hickory. I have to cut a few gun stocks and heard it is really \" hard \"wood!! Feed and RPM, Tooling, climb or slow conventional. I want to have a smooth finish but keep it quick. I only have a couple of boar...

Thanks Daniel for the info but I would still like actual experience from someone who has cut this material or similar. What kind of bits? upshear, downshear, compression, solid carbide, carbide tipped or HSS, Speed of RPM and IPM, Dust extraction on or off, any preparations to CNC prior to routing a...

HAs anyone routed Maranite sheets before?
Just wondering if anyone has had experience cutting this material called Maranite I (Calcium silicate). It is used for high heat insulation and flame retarded walls. My main question is will it effect the spindle since it is sort of like cutting sheet rock and cement board. Would the grit/chaulky du...

Mark, Maybe you are having these issues because of the particle board??? I have not used PBC for over 10 years. We use either VC or MDF core material and rarely have a problem with fitting joints. As far as flip ops, I engineer the job to have minimal if any. But if you are having a lot of partition...

Kirk and Joe, Kirk, I would suggest just going blind dado like Dan and Joe said. Even with a horizontal aggregate you have to mount your parts on a pod to get clearance for it and then you have to do each part by it self and I do not know if Ecab supports it. I know it can be done but you loose the ...

Hey Mark, That will be one for the Service dept at Thermwood. The 2 guys that have shown me how to do it are Josh Hodges over here in New Brunfalls (I think that's how you spell it) Texas and the other was the service tech from Thermwood that came to install my C42 last year. There are little thumb ...

mark, Take a look at plastic hand that your tool snaps into. There is a sponge strip around the prongs. I have brought them closer to the tips and it puts a little more pressure on them. Also you may have to adjust your air pressure for each of the cylinders. Are they popping through or not enough u...
