ceiling attributes

Case in point, I'm laying out rooms for closet cabinetry. I have attic access panels in two of the rooms and would like to add the scuttle-holes + their swing down areas to the design to illustrate what can and can't be placed. How is this done?

stacked tolerances

I'm deep into designing tonight, and I am concerned with hardware placement. What concerns should I keep in mind when placing my hardware holes? Mathmatically, some of my stacked tolerances are adding up to considerable numbers. Mostly, the conversions that take place when translating from standard ...

Channels cut into an MDF sheet??? that would be what I would call a \"jig\" -Ummm... is there anything wrong with that? First, if we included a 1.5\" thick sheet of trupan into a job to be milled into a jig for holding faceframe parts on end, because that is exactly where I'll want to...

OK, I just discovered that by selecting the item in either \"detail room\" or \"edit wall\" view I can select a cabinet, then hold shift while right clicking and dragging right or left.

How would you move the cabinet up or down, in the event that you need to do so?

moving installed cabinets

In ecabinetsystemsmadeeasy, I cannot for the life of me find how to MOVE a cabinet, once I have placed it in the room. I've created (a couple) rooms, set some of the cabinets into proximity of where they go, and am now trying to simply nudge the boxes into place. I have tried everything I can think ...

FF M&T and PUZZLE JOINTS, SOLID VS. NEST...

Although enthusiastic about the puzzle joint, I'm leary of using sheet stock for face frames. What degree of success are members having with CNC machining solid wood components with puzzle joint OR mortise and tenon construction?

OH, before getting too much further, how do you deal with factory sheet good edges? And are there magic numbers for tenon lengths?
I'd rather overthink this NOW than later...

actually, you're fortunate that you DIDN'T purchase property here a few years ago. The bubble has burst here. It's estimated at about two years out before the real estate mkt swings back around. In fact NOW is a good time to start shopping for your SW FL property. You say .020 for depth and .015 for...

Those are the two programs I was thinking about. Is it as simple as scanning, scaling and cutting? I cut my bears' ears, clover, variable spaced DT's on a Leigh Jig. I'm sure the CNC could cut them more efficiently... I can only produce about 15-20 complete DB in a LONG day of work, and that's if I ...

I moved my family down here from Vail, CO last year. It has taken its toll on us to say the least... Surely not the paradise we'd hoped for. I truly believe eCabinets and the eventual addition of a Thermwood CNC router will provide the leverage I need to compete in this hostile market. Back home I p...

door/drawer editor

First, doors... What is required to add door (libraries? ) from different manufacturers? I have a particular source that I almost exclusively use for my doors, and I'd like to have their catalog/pricing in addition to Conestoga, Thermwood, etc... As for drawer boxes, I'd like to know what would be r...

Doors and Stairs

Though my intent for ecabs is cabinetry, my forte is Doors and Stairs. I'm interested to know how ecab/cnc could be utilized to produce door and stair parts. I would LOVE to use a Thermwood to cut my copes and RP's, instead of the shapers that I regularly abuse. And I can't even begin to tell you ho...

fit clearances, over/under, accuracy

I'm VERY new to ecab as well as CNC processing. Immediately, I have a few questions regarding accuracy and tolerances. It seems as though everything's accounted for with relation to the \"generic\" material selected. -Of course I rarely receive .7500000 inch sheet stock! Where do I go to c...

thank you for the advice and warm welcome. I added a 512k card with my existing 256k and have successfully installed and started up eCab! 8) There's so much I want to learn right this instant, that I don't even know where to begin??? I only recently heard about ecabinets through a potential buyer of...
