Re: Cabinet back full dado with scribe
Don, I see what you are trying to do. A simple solution would be to add/create a new sheet panel to be used as the back that has the same thickness of the inset total. This will affect your nesting efficiency for waste control since it will be considered a different thickness than all the other shee...

Re: Cabinet back full dado with scribe
Don,
I guess I am not getting your explanation. You wanted a 1/8" scribe but say it will break off. Looks like you got what you ordered. You can make the inset anything you want as well as setting the dado depth. I do mine at 3/8"
Maybe I don't understand what you are asking?

Gary,
I agree with Jason. I have done multi step finishing to match existing. It ALWAYS takes longer than you expect.

Re: New to eCabinets
Michael, I can help immediately with a couple of items. First, When you load a cabinet into a room layout, you must "associate" it with a wall. Double click the cabinet to cause the cabinet to be covered with a cross-hatch pattern. This means you have "selected" the cabinet. Once...

Re: Greetings & a little help pls
Rick, Hang in there. Everyone starts this way. The forum is a great place to post questions, many members stay online throughout the day to help. We all recall the learning process we went through. I would recommend watching all the video stuff available on the opening screen when you load the progr...

Re: Greetings & a little help pls
Rick, Saving two cabs together is simple. Place both cabinets together in the cabinet editor, arrange them the way you want them to be when installed, and then click on save. On the pop-up "save" panel you will see an option to save as an "Assembly". That will save the cabs togeth...

Re: Labor Question
Sounds right to me for the work described (not including any finishing). Caution: If the pocket door will be used to close off sections of the house that may have separate HVAC, and one side is allowed to "set back" with a resultant temperature difference between each side of the door, che...

George,
Just exactly how did you do this spotlight effect? I see the result, but there is no explanation.

Re: Has this ever happen to you
Gary, I have a policy of "yes." I learned that years ago. I schooled myself to understand that any customer change is not my fault, or a comment on my work, but rather the customer's indecisions. I also learned that a significant amount of stress occurs within the client when they realize ...

Re: Dumb as a Rock?
Gary,
I spoke too soon. Since I answered your query, Client decided to use an finial hinge with mortised hinge plates.
Only a few doors are inset. All the rest are non-mortising finial hinges on an overlap door.
Thanks

Re: Rates for services
Todd, Clients will often ask for a price structure that falls entirely within their comfort zone. The problem is, if it is not in YOUR comfort zone, then things usually do not turn out well (at least in my opinion). If the client has been pleased with your work in the past, and it seems he must be i...
