Re: tool change problems, still

Hi Rob, that sounds like you have found the problem. The input #2 will not close if the solenoid won't turn off and release the pressure. Give me a call today and we can make sure that there isn't anything else going on there. 800-221-3865 X 250 Thanks

Re: tool change problems, still

Hey Robert, The switch #'s on the spindle and the inputs on the control are swapped. The #2 input is controlled by the switch #1 on the router. That is the "up" drawbar input. That senses if there is a tool in the spindle and/or if it is locked in correctly. The the input #1 is controlled ...

Re: tool change problems, still

Hello Robert, It sounds like you may either have a bad wiring connection on the front of the router, or a possible bad router cartridge. If the operator pressed the green button while in the middle of a tool change macro, the machine was probably waiting for the down input to make. The air cylinder ...

Re: Spindle stops on ramping in

Hello Stephen, I'm sorry I wasn't more clear on the location of the frequency drive display. Hopefully, it was just a loose connection. Just keep me posted on any problems you may have. Thanks

Re: Spindle stops on ramping in

I would check the motor plug connection and make sure you don't have an armature pin coming out or just a bad connection. Also, go into the cabinet and check the wiring connections coming out of the drive and down to the line reactor and make sure they are a ll tight. It is possible the frequency dr...

Re: Spindle stops on ramping in

ok, I would look at the display on the frequency drive to see what the frequency is. I would like to know the numbers it is showing and if they are fluctuating as this is happening. That will determine if it could be losing phase on the armature or if it is something in the control. What is the rout...

Hello Steven, I'm sorry i didn't add that. You press "F6" and then "F2" it should pull up the output maintenance display.

Re: Spindle stops on ramping in

I would check the frequency drive display when this is happening. I want to make sure the frequency isn't dropping low when this happens. Also, what version of Thermwood software are you running? Is it Version 6? Also, when the router stops turning, turn the feed rate pot to zero so the machine stop...

Re: Spindle stops on ramping in

Hello Stephen, I am a little confused on why the ath align program is up in the screen shot. That needs to be closed unless you are aligning the tool arms. Is the router spindle stopping during a cut? Does it go into emergency stop when this happens? If so, go the the plc screen and see what the err...

Hi Eric, if you are interested in a replacement or spare drive, we can make one up for you. Just call in to the service department 1-800-221-3865. All that we would need is the machine serial # to ensure that we have the correct files loaded. Thanks

Re: Machine won't home

Hello Keith,
If you have tried homing the machine again with the same result, one of the axis 1 belts may have jumped a tooth. You can give us a call here in the service department and we can walk you through a solution to this problem. 1-800-221-3865 Thanks

Re: Automatic oilers?

Hi Terry, There are 4 bolts you would need to remove. Depending on where the bearing is placed on the machine, you may need a "short" allen wrench to fit it into the socket head bolts. The bearing is either equipped with a "push lock" style plastic fitting or a brass type ferrule...

Re: Automatic oilers?

Hello Terry, the first thing is to check that when the machine is out of e-stop and in running mode, that there is 8 lbs showing on the autolube regulator. If that is correct, check the sight glass on the oiler. Make sure that there is a drop every 2 to 3 seconds to start with. If not, there are adj...

Re: squaring the gantry

Hello, There are two ways to correct this problem. If you have a dial indicator and Magnetic base you can attach it the the router head on the plates or on the spindle anywhere that allows your indiactor to reach all the way across the front of the table from left to right. If you look under the fro...
