I just had another thought while (or whilst for those down under) putting away the xmas decorations. I believe, though I am not sure, that the Thermwood router keeps track of the rolling nest information so leftover sheet stock is kept track of and can be used in other jobs. That info could be incor...

I know I am probably in the minority here as I am a one man shop and do not order truckloads of lumber from my suppliers. I go to the lumberyard and pick out my boards for each project. So for me the board feet calculation is not really much benefit (and is simple to calculate anyway). What would ac...

I do this often. If it is just a top and/or bottom rail run like you are describing, I just create a negative inset on the right of the leftmost cabinet (or left of the rightmost cabinet) to make the length I want. You then need to create insets on your stiles so they stop at the rail. Then delete t...

The Transfast alcohol soluble dyes are being discontinued as the water dyes are easier to use. The Transtints are a liquid that can be diluted with just about any solvent except mineral spirits and can also be added directly to many finishes to create toners (the alcohol soluble powders do not work ...

With this piece I sanded the solid to 150 and the ply and veneer to 180 and the grain raise was minimal so I sealed with the shellac before I knocked down the nibs and the subsequent WB coats did not raise any additional grain due to the shellac barrier. With wood that has more significant grain rai...

Ohhhhh, you want secret formula... I start my basic color mixes with 3 tsp (about 1/4 oz) dye to 2 cups water. I started with 1 part of that in dark mission brown, 1 part of that in medium brown and added 3 more parts water. They wanted to go a bit more brown so I tweaked around a bit and ended up w...

Thanks. I made the mantle (just the lower shelf portion) for them a couple of years ago. It was a little different color so I had to tweak it a bit to match all the new stuff. I can't get good color with my digital but the actual color is pretty close to the main unit pic, though it is really a litt...

Finally completed this install this afternoon. I didn't get a good pic of the whole thing as in the rendering. My digital camera is not very good and I didn't take my film camera. The two big openings are going to contain wine refrigerators but they are going in later.

My supplier carries both domestic 9 ply and import 13 ply in a few species and for the most part the domestic starts flat and stays flat, and the import starts warped and gets warpeder (no grammer checks please). It may be more extreme here in the desert as I imagine the import stuff goes through hu...

I have another suggestion that might work for you. Rather than ask your customer to install something on their machine to view your proposal, try saving your proposal in a different format for them. Could be they only use their computer for web browsing and e-mail and don't have (or need/want) Micro...
