Re: Depth Clearance
I thought this was going to be an easy problem to find a work around for but after about 7 tries of different ways to "trick" e-cabinets the only way I could do this was to make 2 identical cabinets, one with the desired depth of the tenon and one with the depth plus .0469 and when it got ...

Re: Can someone "create part using closed contour" this?
When I downloaded your .esa file and added for the part that was left out I came up with a dimension of 84" wide by 504" long. I think the problem might be the size of the display cube (over 40 feet long) and not being able to work with something that size in the part editor. One of the wi...

Re: Can someone "create part using closed contour" this?
I'm guessing this is the shape you are looking for. Counter .JPG I am having problems getting this to work also. I saved a DXF file in a CAD program so I could open it in the second screen of the part editor (right click, Load Geometry). It will show up in the second screen for me but when I bring i...

Dovetail Drawer Boxes
I am thinking about starting to cut dovetail drawer boxes on the CNC and I was wondering how many other machine owners are doing this and how it is working for them. Thanks, Jon Kenworthy.

Re: New Project
We did an entertainment center with some similarities to the picture you posted and the owner of the shop I work at told the customer that a ballpark figure would be around a $1,000 dollars a lineal foot. The customer told us after he got through having a heart attack he got a couple more bids from ...

Re: Entertainment Center
Joe, the above picture was an actual completed job picture by the designer, here is the E-cabinets presentation that I put together for the client. Awesome, huh. Hartnetts.jpg Peter, the center span is close to 60 inches. We used 3/4 in. alder plywood with a 1 3/4 in face frame, then we put so...

Entertainment Center
This is a job we did awhile back and recently got some finished pictures from the decorator. It was challenging in that it had a concrete floor and the beams in the ceiling and the cabinets went from floor to ceiling. The TV sits behind pocket doors and is on a pullout so when the doors are closed t...

Re: Prefinished VCP
We use a prefinished birch product called either Classic Core or Super Core. It has three layers of plywood and the outside two layers are MDF. We use it as an upsell for cabinet boxes along with applied ends and more commonly as drawer boxes. It is a durable product (you don't have to be extremely ...

Re: OT Melamine cab assy?
We do a mostly melamine cabinets as most of are work is commercial and we use the blind dados. We use the prefinished maple for drawers and have used this for cabinet boxes also (we use the blind dados for this also). We glue them together with melamine glue, right now we use the Roo glue brand but ...

Re: Blind corner suggestions?
We usually use a blind corner cabinet for this type of a situation similar to the attached picture. The easiest way that I've found to make them is as a corner cabinet (in your kitchen you would have to set the right front width to the thickness of the right end material plus 1 thousandth). I've onl...

Re: shelf question
You set up a cabinet twice as deep as you need for the one side (for instance with a 3/4 in. back you could have a 48 in. deep cabinet which would equal two 23 and 5/8 in. deep cabinet). Then you put the appropriate inset on the back and put your shelves, etc. in the front side. Take the cabinet par...

Re: shelf question
I just had this problem and the way I went about it is to start the way that you said with the back inset, then take it into the part editor, make a line at the halfway point, then mirror the front part. Then you could double the shelves and partitions that you needed.
