David, Accutrans is Shareware. I don't believe it will be disabled after the 30-day trial period. However, it is cheap enough that it encourages us as Users to pay the $20 license fee, as it IS such a useful program. The following is from the web site, License Agreement: The software does not use a ...

I just started using Accutrans, David. This is what I do: 1. Start the program. 2. Click once on the left-most folder - if you hover over it with the mouse, it will show \"Read file...\". 3. A dialog box opens. Navigate to the folder that contains the dxf file(s). 4. Select the file you wa...

I did it, and was able to reproduce the problem. Also tried the following: 1. After dropping the cabinet without running into the first one you place, move the second cabinet manually. It will not go through the first one. 2. In elevation mode: The second cabinet does not go through the first one wh...

Re:

Check out Dan's paging file tip @ Ecab world. Thanks, Rick. I made the changes to the paging file, as Dan recommends in his write-up. I probably should have done this a a long time ago, as I have had an external 250GB Maxtor drive for some time now. In summary, I now do the following regularly: 1. ...

Thanks for the suggestion, Lee. The following is a short extract from the freecad link you provided - we probably should avoid installing this version of TurboCAD on WinXP: Note: IMSI has stopped offering a freeware copy of TurboCAD LE at their own website due to installation problems with Windows X...

Accutrans does not read the DWG file format, although it does export to STL.

What else is available that is free, or cheap? Need to go DWG --> STL .

Re:

... just download the CAD file, convert it to STL, import it to eCabs in the Display Part Editor and then save it with the stainless steel texture as an HSF file which you can now use as a display object... Thanks, Joe. Can you provide some details? 1. I don't have AutoCad. How do I convert? 2. Are...

My thanks to all who have responded so far. I also ditched Norton about 8 years ago. Then went to McAfee, but ditched it after we started getting problems with our satellite Internet connections. Finally changed to Avast! Home Edition (free) anti-virus software - highly rated, and highly regarded. T...

NOT an eCabinet question, BUT important with recent problems

Several recent posts to the Forum have been on issues related to Build 3. Are most, or all, related to Build 3, or is there something we can do on our end to help us get the most out our PCs and laptops? I would like to learn from the Thermwood Team whether you believe that we (Users of the program...

Thanks, Dean.

I ask because I am being VERY cautious and will do ONLY what is recommended, after someone has tried it out. I did not want to run the utility after installing Build 3 if it was going to cause unexpected or unsuspected problems, Dean.

Chris and Mike, I am fairly new here. Could you please elaborate on your computer system setup? RAM, HDD size, graphics card, etc. I worry about speed issues after plunking a sizable amount for this refurbished laptop. It does great, NO speed issues with Build 3 so, as a user, I am quite interested ...

Re: More Build 3 bugs?

... The other problem associated with placing assemblies is that once you put an assembly in a room with regular cabinets if you perform any operations on the assembly some of the operations on the regular cabinets are no longer accessible, like resizing... I tried to reproduce this, but was unable...

Leo,

1. I followed your instructions to the letter. No change to the rail.

2. Saved the modified file as an assembly.

3. Still within the cab editor I clicked on NEW, and opened the saved assembly. You can see the results below. No change to the rail.
