Al, LOL. I assume that you are kidding, right? About half of my ecab sessions end with a crash, usually more of a non-responsive lock up. I have developed the \"ecab 6th sense\" for knowing when a crash is eminent, so sometimes I preform the preemptive system restart. You now probably want...

OK, Well Al's solution seems to fix it. If I select the cabinet while in the cabinet editor and choose remove all part editor cuts the cabinet rebuilds and I can take parts into the part editor. Interestingly the \"mod 1\" extension to the cabinet name dosen't go away when I return to the ...

I started this job 3 months ago, so there has probably been 2 or 3 builds used. However I think that all the cabinets in there now were made in build 4 except a couple. But the seed cabinet is probably a build 2 or 3. I noticed the \"mod 1\" extensions as well. I can't seem to loose that e...

Since you question is more of a \"how should I build my cabinet question\" you might want to post on the Cabinetmaker forum. These are all pros and give good advise. Since you are asking for opinions I think that your design is over complicated. M&T joint on all those stretchers will n...

custom layout / part editor bug

Hello everyone, When I take cabinets from the custom layout area into the cabinet editor (select cabinet / adjust cabinet features / edit cabinet) I cannot take a part of that cabinet into the part editor. A message comes up saying \"The edited or unedited body for this part was not found\"...

I noticed that too. I always wait to install the \"fixes\" until the complaints die down. I kept looking for them on this build...... but there were none. I too dont have any. Other than the usual Ecab issues.

I sort of thought the same thing about the ecabs lights. I suppose it would be a simple thing to put one of each in an empty room and look at the floor reflection. I really apreciate your help and I will post my results in a couple days after the file is complete. You advise has made a huge defferen...

Thank you kerry, I really apreciate your help. You are right I some how set the countertops to 10, which looks good in my renderings. I've bumped the doors and f-frames to 7 and simplified the lighting. I followed your recomendation and added .5 gausian blurr in PS Elements. A little goes a long way...

Thank you kerry, I was taking the wrong approach. I have been using a lot of lights and spend hours messing with the intensity. I also never use such high shine values; at 2 counter tops look pretty shiny, realistic I'd say. If I understand correctly you are underlighting the images, using a lot of ...

A request for Kerry

I have always marveled at your amazing renderings. I know that placing the lighting is key. Could you post a rendering or a custom layout Jpeg with all the light showing? I cant figure out if you are using a lot of lights close to the cabinets at low intensity, or far away, or both. If you could use...

Try hitting up the local high end audio/video retailers. These stores build complete theaters with the cabinetry and millwork to match. I found them suprisingly aproachable. My ability to produce 3D mockups and photorealistic renderings impressed tham a lot.
