Re: Nesting sequsnced flat panel doors?
I have a related question. I will soon start cutting 124 identical 3 draw bases for a facility. The doors are made from woodgrained melamine. I know how to group them. Is there a way to have the labels mark the groups without having to assign each cabinet with a unique name/number?

Re: Melamine 2nd pass problem
Jason...
My guess is that you have either machine or tool deflection on an aggressive 1st pass that is causing a slight over cut, resulting in slightly undersize parts. The skin pass, since its under little or no load cuts in the proper location, leaving the skin slightly proud of the part.

Re: Advice For New Laptop
Vince... This is one of the few days that you will see me disagree with Kerry. I have a laptop with similar specs to yours (see mine in signature). I also have HDMI and VGA out which allows me to use either my 27" or 37" monitor(in full 1080i) along with the laptop monitor as a second. It ...

Re: Removing Doors But Keeping Hinge Plate Holes
Stephen.... Almost. You have 2 choices. 1) Use a "DO NOT CUT" door material (quick easier version) This method preserves the parametric hole geometry placement 2) Using the part editor, copy the hole geometry and apply it to the side panels. This is explained very thoroughly in the Trainin...

Re: Hardware Holes in Backs
Kerry...
IF you do ever mention that, don't forget to mention that those who outsource or build in house could use an "imaginary draw box" that would allow placement of hardware patterns and output sizes to cut/buy lists.

Re: Next Release Question
Josh... I havent tried the barb joint yet either, but since we use mostly plywood, plan to soon. If it works anywhere near as well as the blind dados do, they have a sure winner. I cant answer your "how many" question, but I do have contact with a lot a small shop owners, and virtually eve...

Re: Bar Code Scanner
Robert... Are you using Thermwood CN or the SB Link? They may be similar, but I can only explain as it would apply to the SB Link. When a job is loaded, and before it is nested, Click [Add Sheets] then [Off Falls] When the Off Falls dialog is open, scan an Off Fall label. That should enter it. You m...

Re: Next Release Question
Josh... Demographics are, of couse what we make of them, but of those 12: How many are CNC machinists? (maybe all?) How does that number compare to the number of machinists that frequent or post on the forum? My guess is that the vast majority of users do not send to machine. To them this means noth...

Re: Next Release Question
Sorry Guys... If you look at the picture that Alain posted as an example, you arte looking at the very reason the programmers dont allow the Rafix/KDA option and dado to co-exist. Should it be allowed and used for pilot holes, then no problem. All that used it (like myself) would love it. However, s...

Re: Rear Panel Mounting Bracket Holes
Kerry.... I agree on the holes. The PE or a jig is the only reasonable way to place those mounting holes. If I made predetermined widths or draw spacing, then I would use the PE to place holes in the seed backs. This doesnt occur often enough to make it worthwhile. I disagree on the machining. As a ...

Re: Rear Panel Mounting Bracket Holes
Careful Kerry... you are now starting to switch over to "the dark side". When you design with software you learn what the product CAN do. When you use it to machine, you find out what it CANT do.

Chris... Click on the Settings/Preferrences Icon. 3/4 of the way down in the dialog is a box with the "User Data Path" This is where your data is located. Go to this location and drill down to the "Cabinets" folder. Select the cabinet file that you wich to transfer, right click a...
