Re: Help- Problem with CS45

UPDATE on Problem. Last night I got a call from Andrew from CNC automation. It would have been about 1:00am his time. He stuck with me trying to solve this problem. This goes to show everyone about the service that this company offers. First I want to thank Andrew for going above an beyond what enyo...

Help- Problem with CS45

I have a major problem with my router that has shut me down. This is a problem that has come up in the past on a small scale but tonight it is very bad. There seems to be a problem with the encoders loosing track of machine locaton. I am not 100% sure but I think it is just the X axis. I changed som...

Re: Control nesting future update

One more thing I forgot to mention is: One thing that is leading me to think that it is being treated like a square part with an extra cut is to look at the print out of the nest. For me it is placing the part on the sheet as a square judging by the part label location on the sheet itself. If you ca...

Re: Control nesting future update

I will try but I do not think this will work. The width of the stretcher is 4.5" including tenon so it should have cut a double pass. Really what it seems like to me is that it is treating the part like a large square then adding additional cuts to make the L shape. Do to the size of the part i...

Re: Control nesting future update

Thanks for the reply Todd and sorry for the delay in answering your questions First off, I think I am still running 5.40. I did download the update but I have not installed it. I had better get on that. As for double pass settings, Width = 5" and the other is set to 600 square in. I hope this i...

Control nesting future update

I have come up with something as a wish list for control nesting. Quite often small parts will end up at the edge of a sheet. For the most part this is OK and I do not loose these parts but sometimes I do and I can see that problem when I nest the parts. Some nesting software allows you to edit the ...

Re: Automatic Oiler

Thanks for the note Dan, I know about the estop thing. I am glad you mentioned about the oil. The machine says to use 5w oil. When I got the machine from CNC Automation, I ordered some oil as well. The sent me 5 gal of 10w oil. When I recieved it, I questioned the 10w and they said it was OK. I also...

Re: Door/Drawer Editor Feedback

Thanks for the notes Jason and also the file. I only require the router to do the vertical holes like you say. I have a CNC boring/dowel inserter for the other holes. I do not quite understand how to use the file you sent. Can you give me a few pointers to get me going with it? As for the doors and ...

Re: Looking for Info on a CNC Machine

I recommend a CS 45 5-10 machine. Depending on the number of gables you would need to produce in a day would play a big part in the addition of a drill bank for the machine. Just using the head to drill is very fast. The machine moves at 1600IPM on these moves so when you blink, it has moved on and ...

Re: Boring hinge holes on outside sourced doors

I agree that a hinge boring machine and inserter is the best way to go. It will bore faster than the CNC and also insert the hinge.
You can bore a door and install hinges in the time it takes the router to change bits.

Automatic Oiler

I have the auto lub addition on my CS45. How can you tell if it is set up correct.
There is air getting to the oiler but I can't confirm that oil is getting to the bearings etc?

Thanks in advance,

Re: Door/Drawer Editor Feedback

I bought a Thermwood CS 45 machine. The biggest reason was the intergration with E cabinets. Although I am new to ecabinets, I am using the batch process to produce my cabinets. I am still using cabinet vision for my quoting and presentations etc. I was a bit mis led in the purchase of the router et...

Thanks for the replies. That makes sense. I did not know that they were
allowing for that cut.

Cheers

Re: Fly cutting sacrificial sheets

I was talking to a guy I know that has a couple of Komo machines. He said something interesting and I thought I would put this out there for feed back. He said that they were told not to use a waist board. He said that the way to do it is to monitor the vacuum gage. He said to turn on the vacuum pum...
