Would anyone know a way to accurately place a knock in dowel type suspension fitting into an upper cabinet? Using Hafele 290.00.711 and 290.00.710 suspensions.
I used to be able to use a shelf created with "Suspension fitting material" that was 48mm thick. Added the shelf to the cabinet and put in a ...

Display object help
Good morning all,
Would anyone have a coat hook similar to this one as a display object? Trying to get a mud room cabinet display out the door for a client and would really be the cherry on the cake to get the coat hooks in the cabinet design.
Thanks for any help, it's appreciated.
Tim

Angled wall trouble also
I have been crashing the program trying to go into render mode after creating a room with some angled walls. I noticed a previous post from Brian having the same problem.
System info:
intel core i7 @ 2.67GHz
8 Gb ram
Radeon HD 4870: 1024MB
I'm going to get rid of the angled walls and see if that ...

Re: tenon % thickness VS. TWD thickness
We have done the math equation to get to the desired tenon thickness. Besides the problem with having the tenon thickness change with any material thickness change at the TWD there is also the problem with having to do it for any material variation. Seems counterproductive. Then there's the ...

Re: tenon % thickness VS. TWD thickness
Thanks Josh,
Yes it does. Good insights. I've just finished measuring my parts and recorded them on the report sheets. Also recorded maximum deviation within a part from what it was supposed to be. After a few of these reports getting labeled up I did a comparison of the reports and found that the ...

Re: tenon % thickness VS. TWD thickness
With regard to warnings about the tenon being to big for the panel thickness idea, Isn't that what's happening with kd/rta placements and tenon insets already?
It would be consistent with the rest of the program.
Trying to audit my parts has been made more difficult with this % feature as it ...

Re: tenon % thickness VS. TWD thickness
Thanks Scott,
That clears up what I should be comparing what with.
Would this be any easier if the tenon thickness was a fixed value in the construction settings? What would be given up going from a % to a fixed value? I guess I'm still wondering what the benefits are with having the tenon ...

Re: tenon % thickness VS. TWD thickness
Thanks Josh,
Yeah, your right about all the variables that can creep into the milling. This is what were examining right now in order to get more reliable results. I can measure my parts/cutting bits but I need to know what the resulting parts dimensions are supposed to be. Is it the nest ...

Re: tenon % thickness VS. TWD thickness
Hi Josh,
Thanks for responding. If I set my fit tolerance to 0" and still get loose joints then I need to start measuring parts and find out where the problem is. Is the dado to wide (perhaps a problem with the diameter of bit) or maybe my z plunge is to much (creating an undersized tenon)? Should ...

tenon % thickness VS. TWD thickness
Can someone tell me if the material thickness change at the TWD affects the thickness of the tenon, being a % of material thickness?
If it does then I assume all the dimensions in the nest, as they relate to dado's and tenon dimensions, will be wrong since the TWD thickness change occurs down ...

Yeah,
I would agree with that suggestion as I'm outsourcing most of my drawers now. That would be a huge help.

Edgebanding
Has anyone been able to get edge banding on their drawer boxes in the program? I'll normally build a cabinet as a drawer box to get the edgebanding ability and use a drawer box, made of a phony don't run material, to be installed in the cabinet to get the slide holes. Just wondered if there was a ...

Re: Now that the dust has settled, How do you like V6?
Hi Kerry,
Yes indeed, material thickness is not what it used to be. We've used the closest material thickness to what we get from suppliers in our sheet stock materials library that we design with. Learned that thru hard knocks.
With regard to the tenon thickness, wouldn't that be determined ny ...
