TV or not TV

Wow, our brilliant government has made my television worthless except for watching dvds(and occasionally breaking out the ol'atari2600).They mandated all television reception was to be digital, great for city folks.I got the converter box only to find that we we were in a "digital dead zone"...

Re: Drawbar 1 Up switchnot closed

We get that error when air pressure is low,or is there is a little rust on the tool holder preventing the drawbarfrom releasing the tool(we live in a high humidity area and things seem to rust while the shop closesfor the weekend). I often fix it by manually removing tool and cleaning it with some s...

Re: A real Lounge question on site seeing in the East coast

You're going to be in Erie Canal country now(An hour from my neck of the woods)! All along the I-90/rte 5&20 corridor are all sorts of American Revolution and Erie Canal landmarks.Just south of Rome in Utica there's an awesome brewery,Saranac that does tours.A little west of that in Onieda the i...

Re: A real Lounge question on site seeing in the East coast

Albany,NY(where 90%of my earnings go towards taxes)is a bit east of me but the drive south down the Hudson is priceless so long as you avoid the interstate(I-87 i think). There are all sorts of charming villages(New Paltz is my personal favorite nested right where the mountains and river meets,straig...

Re: all guitar players past and present

I often have to drive through Nazareth,PA(about 4 1/2 hrs away)and find any excuse to stop at the Martin Factory to take the tour. My wife discourages me from this because I tend to find myself drooling at the beautiful handiwork and verbalizing my fantasty of leaving it all behind to become a luthi...

Re: 3cm Solid Surface Material

Zach, tried the 3/8 onsrud two flute @ 18000 rpm 3 passes, it ran loud as hell (from every forum I've visited thats to be expected with 3cm)but cut beee-utifully! I only needed to barely touch up the seam. I'm trying to convince the penny counters in our office to let me order the Pinske, from what ...

Re: Something to think about

Not only do we outsource much of our production,we import alot of our labor. It's sad to see a line around the block at the unemployment office while migrant workers(many illegal)get work by just gathering on a corner.

Re: 3cm Solid Surface Material

Zach-Formica 3cm is a polyester blend(96%).We tried cutting it with a vortec 3/8 helix upspiral spindle speed 16000rpm at a feed rate of 100 and got a horrible burning smell and the router was running awfully loud.Any suggestions on spindle speed?
