Re: outline breaks mortise shoulder for blind tenon
...We have just changed melamine suppliers so maybe that is what is causing the increased problems...Gerry This. We have found a tremendous variability in the quality among manufacturers of PB and TFLPB (mel). The more expensive materials generally have a finer, more dense core matrix or use more g...

Re: Tooling of part editor cuts
Clint, thanks for your aid in this. I wish that ECabS would distinguish between a true "pocket" and a "thru cut." The impetus for all of this was of course a few broken bits. So I have changed the max penetration on the smallest pocket tool to force it to make multiple passes ins...

Re: Tooling of part editor cuts
Clint, Your suggestion does in fact change the tool in question, but my desire is to make the thru cut described with a tool that is normally not called for when pocketing. When I program a part editor cut that cuts thru the piece, I'd like it to cut with the same bit I would do my outline with, so ...

Tooling of part editor cuts
I cannot for the life of me figure out why any TWD files from ECabS that program a part editor cut (cutting a window in a cabinet back for access, for example) use a different tool than the outline tool. My machine picks up the 1/4" down-shear I use for smaller dados, every time. I've got my to...

Re: Increased dust pick up - DIY modifcation
I love seeing the improvements folks make to these shrouds/boots. I'm still trying to figure out how to get a 6" riser to work with the spindle head in our setup. The 4" riser provided with the stock machine works, but severely inhibits the CFM we have from our DC to the THM.

Re: Diagonal corner cabinet problems
Not sure why but change if you change your blind dado placement from 2.19" to 2.25" it will fix your cabinet. That is a strange solution, but it works! I had set those blind dado insets to remove the tab created at the back of the shelf (and the top and deck, incidentally) and never looke...

Diagonal corner cabinet problems
I have this cabinet that displays correctly, but does not nest or cut correctly. The top, deck, and fixed shelves are nested and defined to cut as pieces that are only a quarter of an inch wide, despite being correctly displayed in ECabS. Not sure how to remedy, or if I'll have to design this again ...

Re: Re-nest specific material
I almost always nest only one material at a time, for this reason. I use the material selection filter shown in the previous post by Ian. On larger jobs the nest for just the cabinet shells can take a few minutes. If I add the drawer-box material to the nest at the same time, then it will take forev...

Re: Cutlist Save/open button
I've reinstalled windows, and updated the version to the latest. It seems to have fixed the problem. Not sure exactly what happened, I'd been through all the utilities to repair and restore the windows updates, guess it just needed a clean slate. Hope the MS gremlins are held at bay in any future up...

Re: Cutlist Save/open button
I was unable to get any of these windows updates to fix the problem. Also, many of the updates would not correctly uninstall, and were immediately reinstalled by win10. Even my last system backup point was corrupted, so I have been unable to restore the export function. It seems my only option is to...

Re: Cutlist Save/open button
Wondering if there has been any movement on this. It seems like MS has washed their hands of the problem, the tech support that I contacted @ MS had narrowed the problem down to a likely bum reference in ECabS. Is someone still pursuing the fix for this?

Re: Cutlist Save/open button
I am not sure if this will work for those who can not turn off windows10 auto updates. I have noticed that when I generate the eCabinets cut list it sends it to the temp folder at C:\Users\Public\Documents\Thermwood\eCabinet Systems\temp without having to click on the export button. You could open ...

Need to turn of automatic updates ;) I uninstalled the KB update and when I went to turned my machine off for the night it downloaded the KB update and put it right back on my machine. Ughhhh...... :wall: The issue that is getting me, is that Windows 10 Home edition (the one that is on my work comp...

Re: Is there a way to make doors with sheet stock panels ?
Thanks for the answers all! I am guessing you can't get a layout of the best way to cut the panels from a 4' X 8' sheet good like you can for all of the other parts of a cabinet ? seems a bit strange but ill go with it :) If your doors and fronts are all the same material they will nest together on...

Re: Working with eCabinets cut list in excel
Hey Guys. I have started a new video series where I demonstrate how to build an excel workbook to export Items into the batch area. If you use the batch area often you may find this very useful. I will show how to use excel power query AKA get and transform to create a dynamic link to the ecabinets...
