Re: MDF

Garry, We cut and paint a lot of MDF. I second what Forest states about quality of mdf. One of the things we learned is when you sand raw mdf, you want to "polishing" it, & not sand.. Use higher grit paper such as 300 + . Also, we have tried all the different primers and the most cost ...

Re: Kens latest book

Neville, I have not seen any of the book you speak about, but I would love to hear more about production control. We are currently looking for such software and have a patchwork of excel spreadsheets some project management software and web based tools, but are a long way from where we would like to...

Re: Face frame attachment

Damon,
I've done this, but did the face frame out of ply in the nest and it worked like a champ. I'd think a jig with a fence and stops at the 2" KD hardware inset would be pretty quick. Would love to see what you come up with. I guess you'd have to adjust fence for scribe.?.

Re: KD Fastener custom tooling

Damon,
Is it picking up a different tool and interpolating? You might try moving that tool up to #1 in the tooling group and see if that does the trick. If it is set to drill only it should not use for any other opps.

Re: Constraint manager

Gary, I may not understand your request, but you can do this now. Put your dimension on you node, then edit the dimension but instead of 2" or whatever, put in there w/2. This will give you 1/2 panel dimension. You could also do some other math such as h/2+3 if you needed a hole half way up a s...

Re: Hardware hole editor

Damon, I have yet to figure out if KD "joints/hole patterns" will work on a display panel.. I'm pretty sure they do not. Stretcher work with some anomolies (but you already figured that out). I have in the past used display panels and just manually put the kd hardware holes in both parts (...

Re: Staying at motel 6

Leigh, I wouldn't walk that distance. I would also walk across the street to that hotel (is it baymont?) and talk to the person at the front desk about other guests. Also, If you don't hook up with anyone just call the factory first thing in the morning and ask to speak to the trainer in your class ...

Re: Octagon Cabinet Question

Damon,
Also, if you look on the bottom of page 316 of the Hafele catalog, it has a handy little chart for calculating cam locations depending on your angles.

Re: Octagon Cabinet Question

Damon, That is definately a design challenge. We use the rafix and mini fix connectors for a lot of items. We've never been able to figure out how to use the rafix connectors on a non-90degree corner. You can however, use the minifix connectors with a mitre joint post like 262.12.939. Any way you sl...

Re: Need Input-Over my dead body

Paul, I guess I'll take a stab at it... We had a shop with an Andi router, CV and no longer have that shop. When looking for a new router a big point for us was where was the machine and software manufactured.... We have several foreign machines and sometimes parts and manuals are non-existent so US...

Re: Build 5.2 install error

Thanks Larry. I did try the install file download from your link and it wanted to remove eCabs... so I took my hands off the keyboard and slowly backed away from the computer.

Dan This is 5.2.1 over 5.1.5.
Thanks,
Fred

Build 5.2 install error

Just installed new build from update within 5.1. Update finished then when I click on icon get. "This application has failed to start because the application configuration is incorrect. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem" and then I have an "OK" button. Any ideas? ...
