Re:
I didn't see any foot print dimensions on the site, I'm curious about overall height. Click on the "Announcing the CabinetShop 41" in the upper, right-hand corner then scroll down to the machine comparison table. There is a link called "Dimensions" right under the photo of the 41.

Jim, thanks for the positive comments. My team and I have spent countless hours testing this video card and that for what makes eCabinet Systems sing. The Quadro FX series is fantastic and come in a many different price points. There's just no substitute for having an OpenGL optimized graphics proce...

Well, there are people that offer used Dell parts. Here's a Dell ATI 128MB Radeon X300 for Inspiron 6000's.
Don't know if a laptop with an Intel Integrated can be upgraded to one of these or not.

Re:
One question I have about Macs. Don't they hold their value much longer than a PC? PCs have built in obsolescence, they want you to buy new every two years. I have a friend that uses a Mac for commercial graphic design work. He has been using the same machine for at least six years and has no inten...

Re:
I think you are right Kerry. Do you know if my computer is a quad? It says it is a Duo but there are four CPU windows. You've got a single proc with dual cores. Windows views the Hyperthreading capability as a seperate processor, thus dual core processors will show up as four seperate processors in...

Re:
Mike, I tried to load Windows XP on my wifes laptop yesterday. It wouldn't work because I didn't have a post service pack 2 version. You can't install the first generation Windows XP and then update it, it has to be an install disk with SP2 incorporated. I am going to try vmware as suggested here a...

VMWare's virtualized graphics adapter is a special 16MB VMWare SVGA driver. Virtual PC 2007's emulated graphics adapter is a 2MB or 4MB S3 Trio 32/64 adapter. Neither of which provides decent functionality for eCabinet Systems. I know, I've run both systems on my computer; my specs are in my signatu...

Ben, Legitimate eCabinet Systems CD's are not distributed in any means other than direct mailing to you, with the exception of foreign countries where distribution is handled by Thermwood's local distributors. As Kerry indicated, all legitimate eCabinet Systems CD's are full installation CD's. Softw...

Clearly, Boot Camp with Windows XP will give the best performance on a Macintosh. I've got four Macs, but they're all PowerPC-based, so I haven't been able to test it. Maybe Thermwood'll let me get one. 8) Parallels 3.0, which was just announced, supposedly offers hardware-accelerated 3D Graphics no...

<snip>...large, VERY large disk drives and other media are cheap today, compared to just a few years ago.<snip> This statement is true for a non-redundant, non-server system. Storage space in the server arena is still quite expensive for mainly two reasons: 1.) RAID Arrays, and 2.) Tape Storage Let...
