Bill, Murphy's law, (your an accident waiting to happen). Sooner or later everyone is going to crash. I haven't heard of any other machine companies who have a function like this. I have never crashed because of the tool always because of code or the operator putting the wrong Zshift in the old flyc...

Jason, I always understood the head has a Z stop that doesn't allow it to plunge below the tool collet. At least thats were it seemed to stop the few times I crashed it. I didn't think it ever hit the hard stop at the bottom of the screw. I have mentioned this before about an onboard code that won't...

shelf hole drilling
Hello Thermwood,
My router wants to drill four holes on all the sets and then go back and drill the final hole for all the sets. I remember a post a while back but can't find a fix. I'm currently running 4.89 but will upgrade if nessesary.

Hi Steve, You won't regret a Thermwood weather you choose a fixed or moving gantry. We have a 5x12 fixed gantry and are very happy with it. I've always been alittle concerned with moving gantry because of high center of gravity forces on the rails and the fact that the part moving is like a small ca...

Jeff, I think what their saying is they want to use the wasteboard but the program default is 0 thickness and as far as I know there is no way to change this. I personaly don't have to move the wasteboard often because of the 5x12 table and I use 5x8 wasteboards for most cutting. The problem that I ...

Jason, Thanks for the heads up. I checked on the 20mm tool I used this time and the max is 10,000rpm but the new tool that I just received is only 3,800rpm. Just from looking at it I'm not sure why the max is so slow. It looks very robust. In any case I'll keep you informed of any potential problems...

Thanks Guys, I finally ran these closet parts with RTA's and used a dedicated 20mm drill bit. Long story short I'll never go back. I used the rpm's from my blum machine and decided to go with 18,000 rpm and plunge at 300 ipm. It drilled flawless holes very quickly. I used a standard 20mm bit with 10...

Good morning Nick, It sounds like you don't have the typewriter tool changer on the head. That should be your next upfit you'll wonder how you ever did without it. I now have 12 tool holders thanks to a fairly cheap upfit for the end of the table. I went from 4 seperate bar style holders to 7 holder...

Hey Nick, Thanks for the reply. I have plenty of tool holders and alot of holes to drill per sheet plus its a special bit with a flare at the top to inset the fitting flush. It would be nice to bore for a hinge when I have to start cutting the doors for this customer. I already have 5,8, and 10mm bi...

Routing for RTA's
Hi All,
Is anyone useing a 20 mm bit to punch a single hole for a KD fitting? I'm just curious before I purchase one if the router will pick it up and use it. What about hinge holes and a 32mm bit will the router use that?
Thanks
Forrest
