Re: Z axis will not drop

Hi, Simon, our router came with a rotary attachment it is a lathe that is connected to the supercontrol Thermwood calls it a playback device. We have not used it yet. We bought our machine used & it came with it. Once we get the cabinets & other flat table work running smoothly we will sit d...

Re: Z axis will not drop

Hi Daniel, The problem was between the screen & the chair  I had assumed V Carve was referencing the tool location in the tool changer ( 1 to 6) instead of the actual tool number in the super control :wall: Then I had the tool I wanted to use in the #5 tool changer location but the machine...

Re: Z axis will not drop

Hi Ray, I gave it a try & the result is the same Z axis at top of travel. It must be a setting on my router but I am dumbfounded why the files I run that are from profile modeler or CN run fine & these files will not :wall: Scott , I have the location issue sorted out now the router goes to ...

Re: Z axis will not drop

Hi Daniel, Both tools were measured a number of times & come up within.001 each time & no Z offset in the fixture table. Something is strange for sure. I will try the G902 offset & see if that works better for me. I hope Vectric support can come up with a solution I am right out of ideas...

Re: Z axis will not drop

Hi Daniel,

I formatted the code as you did & the file will now graph but when I run it the Z axis remains at the top of it's travel :fire:
If I put my G52L2 offset in I get a X axis out of bounds error on line 21 while graphing so I have some issue there also.

Thanks for you help,
Gerry

Re: Z axis will not drop

Hi Simon, The Z axis moves up when it gets located over the part then comes down an inch or so but is still about 8.5" off the work surface. I may have the Z home position setting wrong in V Carve Pro but at this point I am just going to wait & see what the Vectric support group come up wit...

Z axis will not drop

Hi Everyone, We are trying to run a file output from V Carve Pro but the Z axis does not drop to the work surface. I have tried all the Thermwood Post Ps that Vectric has & the result is the same for all of them. I have reviewed the Code & can not see what would be causing this. I can run fi...

Re: new feature request

When ramping in with a compression cutter for outline cuts it is inevitable that you will get chipping when plunging the up cut portion of the cutter. I am somewhat dumbfounded that there is not a ramp in & down option to avoid this  It seems we just have to live with chipped edges until ...

Re: Signs from DXF

Hi Terry,

We went with V Carve pro. It looks like it will do everything we need to do & if we decide we need Aspire we get a very good upgrade discount. We also bought Cut3D for those odd jobs

Thanks everyone for your advice,

Gerry

Re: Signs from DXF

Hi Scott,

I was trying to avoid spending that much but we do have a rotary playback on our router so it may be the best way to go.

Thanks,
Gerry

Re: Signs from DXF

Hi Fred, I downloaded ArtCam express, VCarve Pro & Cut2D trial editions & are working through them to see if they will do the job for me. They will all obviously do this sign but I need to think about future jobs also. The Full version of ArtCam is a bit of a heart stopper when you get to th...

Re: Signs from DXF

Hi, So the consensus is clear. Well I am off to evaluate the programs you all have suggested. One of my customers once told me his biggest fear was that he would spend almost enough to get what he needs. :joker: That is always my concern when I am buying software like this although most seem to have...
