Re: Using eCabs to design a Krenov-style cabinet
...Here, in Sketchup, is a Krenov-inspired bench... Nice, Gene! Did I see Dave Richards also working on something along the lines of this bench, too? ...You wouldn't have an eCabs version of his two-sided music stand, would you? I don't, Gene. But I have this one on the back burner right now, as tw...

Re: Strange behavior with Shape Manager
Cool! BUT, are you saying it is Dean's fault??? Dan, would you mind posting the image of the NVidia Quadro Properties Panel, to show which were screwed up? In particular, I am interested in the Performance & Quality Settings. I wonder if I am having similar issues. Edit to add: ...

Re: Strange behavior with Shape Manager
Dan, I wonder if you are disabling your virus scanner while you use eCabs. I have been noticing the interaction with different parts of eCabs too, especially when I create a new screen capture. And, just tonight, some of the same things you are seeing with the Part Editor as well. Al http://blog.san...

A Krenov-inspired cabinet - initial try at design
I decided to not wait, and proceed to share the following with all of you. Step 1, before I could design my own Krenov-inspired cabinet, was to try to replicate one of the original Krenov cabinets. Here is my rendition of the one I selected, with the spalted maple texture for the door boards I have...
Hi Dean, Can you make it where when we add a url link to a post that it will open in a new window or tab instead of the default window which takes us off the forum? I think that is the way it worked before. Kerry
I am now browsing through the forum, after ...

Re: LINK TO EXAMPLE
LOOK AT THIS. http://www.just4fun.org/woodworking/projects/sculpted_chair/index.htm Gotcha, Keith! Are the hip joints the INSET four cuts, with the rabbet around them? I was looking at ONLY the carved out portion of the board - sorry!!! :( NOW it starts to make sense - it is what Dan refered to as ...

I saw that image, Dan, and it is not clear how the legs were joined. Reading through the responses, Marc will have several joinery options, including using the new Festool Domino, as he mentions in his own response further down the line.

What is a hip joint?
I have looked up this joint in Feirer's \"Cabinet and Millwork\", and also in Hylton's Illustrated Cabinetmaking, and cannot find what this joint looks like. I also used Google and came up empty, other than references to it. I would appreciate if someone could post a photo or image of this...
