Re: Alphabet
I have used DeskEngrave many times. Althought it is a basic lettering program, it has always done what I have needed. That is, making DXF files with a variety of different fonts and importing them into contour mode of part editor.

Re: import dxf files from autocad 04
Mike,
I have used AutoCad regularly to draw intricate shaped parts and then import the dxf file into eCabinets. You can also download thousands of free dxf files online and import into eCabinets to be machined into parts.

Re: Vacuum Problem
Andrew, Is the material you are machining covering the whole machine table? If not, it would be best to cover the remaining table as vacuum bleeding will be a problem and you will lose suction. And always remember to try and place new sheets on your table with the bow facing up. This will aid it hol...

Re: Multipule pass cuts
Terry,
You could always tweak your wasteboard thickness and get multiple passes that way. Not ideal but it works.

Att: Canadian Guys
Was wondering if any of you Canadian guys out there had any work going at the moment. I'm currently travelling Canada and looking for 2-3 months work. I have 5 years plus experience with Thermwood CNC's and eCabinets back home in Australia. I also have experience with ProCam CNC's programmed with Au...

Re: CNC problem
I had a similar problem a few months back on a bar style tool setup. On random occasions when doing a tool change, the spindle head would lower as normal but then stop and a similar blue screen error message would pop up. After many head scratches, my co-worker found some loose electrical connectors...

Re: machining laminate sheets
In the past couple of years I have successfully machined laminate on a regular basis. Although this was on a Procam CNC, the machining principles all still apply on Thermwood CNC's. We found using a straight bit worked well and also a freshly flycut wasteboard was critical. We also left a collar of ...

Re: Hingeing over Partitions
Tim, How you going buddy? By default, once you get a door either side of a partition, the door to door gap will be automatically centred over the partition. If you guys are still using Blum hinges you might want to use the hinges that only hinge over half the partition. We used them up in Qld specif...

Michael,
I have also done similar. This construction method makes a lot of sense to me and to get it in the software as a new feature would be great for many people.

Blind dado/5mm screw hole combination construction method
Hi guys, Was wondering if you guys at Thermwood could give me an update on the progress of a new construction method combining a blind dado with 5mm screw holes. I made this recomendation quite some time ago and was wondering if it was marked in for an upcoming release or even if its a possibility a...

Re: CN / small parts / tabs
Matt, Does this material you are cutting have a plastic protective film? If so I may have an option for you. In the past I have had to machine a heap of small acrylic parts (letters, sunglass display arms etc) and had problems with them moving. We successfully machined these small parts by glueing a...

Re: ecab problem
This error messages comes up when I navigate throught the place items dialog (hitting back and forth buttom). Comes up everytime. I hit yes and keeps going. So I don't think it relates back to a problem cabinet or anything. It also happens at the 'What would you like to do?' screen.
