Dan, what you are actually seeing are \"feather inlays\" on the rod blank.
And yes my customers do fish these rods.

I guess that my only other vice besides woodworking is, designing and building custom fishing rods. I have had the rare priviledge of sending rods to customers from all over the U.S. I have attatched a couple of .jpgs
of some.

Stanford Library revisited

This is the updated model. The client still has not put down a deposit. But I am not worried that they will go elsewhere. In the mean time I will continue to tweak this plan , until I am 150% satisfied with it. I will probably wind up adding glass doors to the uppers.
