Re: New Forum Category

A lot of my jobs come in on an excel spreadsheet. I've built macros to format that info and then I import into ecabs as a batch file. It even selects the right directory depending on door overlay, etc. After ecabs has worked it's magic and I've made any necessary modifications I save, create the twd...

Re: Import from excel in batch section

Don't change what you have, If it works don't try to fix it!!!!! What I've got I just choose the door material at the controller and away I go. For MDF flat pane doors, I'm using a slab door and making a pocket in part editor and then my settings at then controller use a 1/8" bit for cleanup on...

Re: Import from excel in batch section

Thanks Scott,

Another thing it doesn't like is a cabinet with everything deleted except the door. I just remade the cabinet putting the parts back on and it works like a charm. This will save a ton of time and human mistakes (the fat finger effect)!!

Import from excel in batch section

When I make 5 piece shaker style doors I have to manually enter the panel sizes into a batch. (I have a cabinet that just has a door that I use for this purpose). I just noticed the "Import from Excel" button in the batch cabinets section. I've read the help info and have what I think is a...

Re: Profile modeler feature request please!!!

Forrest, You can get that done now, just takes one more step. Make a l shaped tool that extends a little more width of the flat area. Apply this tool from the opposite edge as your profile. When you take this to the profile modeler you will have another region that you can assign the end mill and st...

Re: door editor - make matching drawer

Thanks for the help guys. After I got home last night I got to thinking - it hurts to do that at times - when I said it was on the drawer side, I was using the conistoga as a sample. Just checked and sure enough, If I choose conistoga doors the button is there to create the matching drawer. Not aval...

Re: door editor - make matching drawer

Wally, Have you upgraded to the lasted version? It's not there on the door side. If I go into the drawer side of it and pull up a conastoga drawer, then there is a button to create matching door. That doesn't make a lot of sense but it's there. It's just on a 5 piece, not available on MDF or slab. S...

door editor - make matching drawer

I need to make 5 piec drawer fronts. I've done this before quite a while ago and I'm remembering there was a box to check to make matching drawer front, when designing the door.

Am I getting forgetful in my old age or just blind?

Thanks

Re: Bind corner frameless

Thanks Jon, That does it.

As far as the router goes, I figure it's my hired man. I have found many more uses for it than my original intent. Short of buying one give the production sharing a try.

Bind corner frameless

I have a bunch of frameless cabs to cut. The one that's giving problems is a blind corner. ( I need 3 of them) How do I add a filler strip to the side of the door on the blind side. This strip would go top to bottom and be flush with the short partition where the drawer slide attaches to. It's easy ...

Re: Z axis will not drop

Gerry, Good to see you got it worked out. I've done it before. I've got the profile modeler tools set up as 100 --- . It's always a struggle to remember to measure the correct tool, as far as the controller knows. If I don't it can be a disaster!!!! Simon, The 4th axis is most of the time a rotary o...

Re: Z axis will not drop

Gary, I just ran your file with my header, So I attached the PP for you. Change the extension to .pp before you copy to the Post Processer folder. In Vcarve - go to material setup and tell it the 0,0 point is in the upper right corner. That will solve your positioning issue. Also tell it that your Z...

Re: Z axis will not drop

Gary,

I attached a file that I use to set up the code for my 45. Copy the straight Gcode and paste into this. If it works I';ll send the PP.

Re: Bringing Furniture Business to Cabinetmakers

Most folks we are dealing with are already successfully building kitchen cabinets and we are not trying to replace that but instead expand their business into new areas. I appreciate what you are saying here, but. I don't see adding kitchen cabinets as replacing what I'm doing, it would expand my m...
