Tool Diameter Problem

Chris had a similar item on drilling and we have experienced it also. However, today we are getting a message \"Diameter of tool didn't work for a rout operation. The diameter tried is 0.500\" . We have a 0.500 tool in the machine and it won't get it. It is checked to rout, drill, dado or ...

Jody, we make knives every day for our molders and they are 6000 rpm balanced so I don't think balanced is a problem. We plan to try a \"peck & plunge\" type thing - cut and retract, cut and retract, etc and make this cut in about 5 pecks.
Who knows?

Thanks for responding.... we have to make about 375 of them (restoration of a LARGE old building) We talked about writing a program (or renting TWood's), taking some S4S from our molders, cutting a \"slot\" in a sheet of MDF for the S4S to fit into, and making them 10' at a time, cutting a...

rosettes

Before I go trying to reinvent how to make these on a Thermwood, has anyone successfully done this and how did you do it and what tooling did you use? We are needing to make multiple quartered white oak 6x6 rosettes for a customer and I am thinking that it would be easier to do this on the router th...

1) To add to CN improvements regarding small parts, can CN nest them to the inside of the sheet, over the vacuum hole versus putting them on the outside where the suction is less? 2) For you operators, we have greatly reduced our part movement on small parts by adding a second opening in the exhaust...

Mike, Jeff and all, If I knew what AFL was and how it could help me, I would perhaps be interested. At this moment, AFL is simply another acronym for something I have no clue about ( I am guessing it is not the American Football League). If it is my own fault for not keeping up with the forum, shame...

Is there an easy answer?

When we got the sales pitch on the machine, I thought that I remembered that the machine looks at each forthcoming operation and if the tool that is currently in the head is capable of doing the operation and the time it took to change tools was more than the \"extra\" time it took to perf...

Jason, I am running Ver 4.1 Build 4 and the only hardware holes I have are for Blum Concealed Hinge, Blum Slide 430e3500, and kd-rta hf 26310705 plus a couple I have put in. Am I missing something or looking in the wrong place? I am specifically looking for Grass 12634 in the 3804 series. Baseplate ...

Hardware Hole Editor

I might have dreamed this but I thought some time ago I read that one could download and import the hardware holes for brand name hinges automatically either from Thermwood or from the vendor or somewhere. We are using lots of different hinges now and it sure would save me time if I could not have t...

Dave & All, We zero our machine to the top of the wasteboard and we then never have to remove it for flip operations. You do have to set the wasteboard thickness to .001 when it asks you during programming the job because it won't take zero. We don't remove the wasteboard for unloading so it wor...

Thanks for the input. No, Jeff, I am not intersted in buying a machine you don't like..... Not all of us Hoosiers are gullible! We also got the flyer on the anniversary deal for Butfering. Plus, SCMI has a good price on theirs but we aren't sure we like the machine. We are leaning toward TimeSaver, ...

Since those of you in this forum have equipment, any recommendations on widebelt sanders? We need a new one in a bad way and we have looked at TimeSavers and Butfering (german mach from Altendorf and Mueller Mach) and also Powermatic. Any experience on these out there? Suggestions of other brands? I...
