Re: Cutting tool recommendation needed
Why can't you use a compression tool for the outline?

Re: Loading DXF into control nest?
Dale, The error means all the end points of the lines are not touching. In AutoCad, zoom way in on all the line end points. You will find a corner or line end points that are not quite touching. This is common with arcs meeting lines. Using object snaps will help while drawing. Your layer name shoul...

Thanks Kerry. So simple. Why didn't I think of that.

over sized back joinery
I'm interested to hear how others are doing cabinet backs where the cabinet is wider than the sheet material. If there is a partition, the back can be broken there. But how do you handle joinery to the sides, top and bottom when cutting the parts on a router? Can you add joinery to a display panel? ...

Re: Viewing hardware in database
I agree. The description is much more helpful when designing a job. The product code is great for ordering.

Re: Reqd Tool Numbers Listed at Beginning of CNC Code
Barry, After you create the code for your jobs click the Verify Tooling icon on the tool bar. It looks like a tool holder with a green check mark next to it. Or, press L,V. It will list all tools used in the job and where they should be located. Sorry, I just realized this feature may be new and not...

Re: dxf import into PE problem (V5.2)
No, I'm running 6.1 and 6.3. When I zoom way in on the curving areas I see many short lines and many overlapping lines. The drawing really needs to be cleaned up. I'm sure this has something to do with your problems. I've been importing dxf files for quite some time without any problems. Ask your ca...

Matt,
I can load it in part editor but still get the message about not being a closed contour.

Re: dxf import into PE problem (V5.2)
Matt, There are a couple of things going on here. As for why the part loads at 15 Meters by 4 Meters, Ecabinets loads the parts relative to 0,0 in the drawing. Your part is drawn about x=15, y=4. Move a corner of the part to or near to 0,0 in the dxf file and it will be in a better position in eCabi...

Re: Let's give Thermwood some well deserved credit!
Well said, Ben. I follow several other CNC and software forums and I'm amazed at the problems people have with their machines and software not working well together. Hearing these conversations only supports my choice of Thermwood products. Thank you to all the Thermwood folks who have worked so har...

Re: Problem with holes showing up
Nick,
I've noticed this myself. I think it's just a display issue. They do seem to make it to the finished parts.

I'm having the same problem sending LDE to my printer. Freezes eCabs and never prints. It does work on my old computer with build1. Same job, same cabinets.

Re: Taking DXF files to cut within the shopbot link
Autocad LT is what I'm using. The Explode command "Breaks a compound object into its component objects", a series of lines and arcs. If you don't have that command, send me the entire drawing and I'll explode it for you.

Kenneth,
In the CAD program you are using, explode the horses head into its basic components. It's one line now. Once I did that, it worked fine in eCabs.

Re: Taking DXF files to cut within the shopbot link
Kenneth,
Post the dxf and I'll give it a try. I've been doing quite a bit of work with dxf files lately and haven't had any problems.
