Dxf file name
We use Rhino so the only information available to us on the labels is the name of the dxf file. It use to be that you could have the first 14 characters the same before you get a message that the parts are the same name and only one will be in the nest. It seems like that was down-graded to only 9 c...

Bar code labels
Can we expect to get the ID number on the bar code labels back any time soon? We don't have a bar code reader. We've been adding the date and time to the labels and looking up off cuts that way. Another PITA.

Locating pins
We have an 8 year old CS40 with the manual 1/2" x 1" x 6" locating pins. They have been a PITA for about 7 years now. I called THM to see if there was any new type of pin arrangement and was told my only option was to upgrade to air actuated pop-up pins. After getting the quote and de...

Cut thru depth wrong
We use a shop made grid table to process our solid wood parts. Our solid wood tooling group is set up to leave a .062 skin which is enough to hold the vacuum and keep the part on the table. Occasionally, we get an error in the code that makes the outline cut at.010 cut through. This of course makes ...

Re: Improve Dust Pickup CS43
Here are a couple pics of the air nozzles. Our operator says they DO get knocked around by debris, but are easy to realign. We're thinking of making a ring that could be wire tied to the perimeter of the hood with a quick disconnect so the hood can be removed easier. Any way, it works great for now....

Re: Tooling Heat Up
Several diff. reps at the IWF show told us to NEVER use abrasives ( sandpaper, scotchbrite, steel wool) on the tool holders and especially in the spindle. Gunk will come off with solvent and stiff (non-metal) brush. Spindle cleans with a spindle wiper. The brown area from fretting is not a problem u...

Re: Improve Dust Pickup CS43
We use a CS40 with ATC on table. So far, no interference from nozzles. Will try to get pics tomorrow.

Re: Leuco tools
Correction. Our operator tells me the first Leuco bit we tried (the only one we used to cut prelam exclusively ), we got close to 50 sheets.
We have been thinking about PFD. What brand do you use? Cost? Resharpen?

Re: Improve Dust Pickup CS43
We finally replaced that clear plastic strip that came with the machine, after 6 years of use. We bought the brush strip that THM sells. It's pretty nice and we can't find it any where else. We also bought some of that flex-lock coolant hose from MC. Mounted a ball valve on the spindle plate and hav...

Re: Leuco tools
Brian, We've been using Leuco tools now for about 9 months. Their 2 flute 3/8 compression bit. It's purple. The tech says it's for brand recognition only, doesn't help the cut. We have cut our speed down for prelam to 13,500 and our feed rate accordingly to 375 ipm. Takes a little longer, but it's a...

Re: PROGRAM ERROR!!!!! INTERCEPT CALCULATION FAILED
Sorry, If you look at your screen shot, your Y axis program position is 65.229. Your distance to go is 4.741. This adds up to 69.97, not the 69.9694 that your current line reads. On a rectangular part we would edit the next line to read 69.9694. Not sure what your part looks like. Also not sure if y...

Re: PROGRAM ERROR!!!!! INTERCEPT CALCULATION FAILED
Mohan, We've been getting this error for 6 years now. Our previous work around was to have the cad dept redraw the part. This often did not fix the problem and wasted a lot of time. Recently we discovered that there was a discrepancy in the code. The line that was highlighted when the error appeared...

Re: Hand Held Controller
Scott,
We also think the HH controller is a must, but we wrote a program to flycut. We don't need the HH to do that.

Re: Alert: CN Update / Win2k Controller
Boy, that's not the answer I just got when I called your retrofit department. I asked if I could just upgrade to XP and was told NO. I would have to change over to the new Qcore super controller with a whole new front end. This would cost me $10,000  :fire:   And this after we JUS...
