Re: toe kick construction

Jerry, yep that's much easier. I forgot that face frames can be sheet stock. The one thing I don't get is the in-room placement. Won't the front of the toe be equivalent to the deck of the cabinet, so when it goes in the room it will stand upright?

Re: toe kick construction

Take a standard base cabinet. Detached toe, remove back. Set the depth of the cabinet to the height of your toe kick. This gives you a basic frame. Add stretchers and adjust them in the stretcher editor. You will have to make several to account for your 24" rule. Up to 24" cabinets would h...

Re: slope wall

I think you want a sloped ceiling. If you have only one wall, create it at the height you want and then add the ceiling as a display cube associated to the wall and rotated to the desired slope. (no need for the part editor) If you have a U-shaped room, create it with the wall height set to 48"...

That's strange, because I just noticed that Dean Fehribach, the moderator of the forum has a Vista x64 system on his Dell Workstation.
See any of his posts, his system specs are in his signature.

Ecabinets Course Manual

Several folks have referenced the course manual that accompanies the 3 and 5 day training courses. Any chance these could be made available thru the store for those of us who can't make the trek to the full blown sessions. Sound like this material is more extensive than ecabs - Made Easy. thanks, Gl...

Re: Test: place the door with the fewest keystrokes

Took about 5 minutes because I didn't get the constructions settings on the first try.
Hinge side gap: -.75"
Open side gap: .125"
Top gap: -.375"
Bottom gap: -.75"
Door inset: .75

Good practice. Thanks

thanks,

A poll and discussion of potential enhancements is a great idea. This might merit a separate sub-heading in the forum.

Re: Doors and drawers

Leigh, I am disappointed that the software cannot do what you want. I would like the same, but haven't seen it in the package. We take a job to a Lowe's or Home Depot every six months or so, and sit down in the kitchen cabinet department to have the job priced in a couple different manufacturers (K...

All,

Paul's method seems to work on face frame cabinets but not frameless.

Re: door gaps

Matt, Unequal double doors. Here's the steps that I take 1. Add your double doors.(They are now equal in width) Oh and specify your gap settings 2. For argument sake - your doors are now 13 in each. While still in door/drawer editor, select the right hand one and right click 3. Go to construction s...

Justin,

Attached is the job file. Both cabinets are set to 0" from floor. Cabinet on the left is always 1 1/8" off.

Re: object elevation

Hi Matt,

I can duplicate this. Only happens to some cabs and not others. Looks like a bug to me. The arrows work fine to move by the "move increment".

Look forward to Version 6 at IWF in August, if history is any guide.

I am considering making a DVD-ROM version for those who have DVD drives in their computers. This of course would be far fewer total disks to keep up with while having the same content. Dan, I would expect that any computer running ecabs would have a DVD drive. Perhaps a poll could save you some wor...

I empathize with your frustration but to lay it in Thermwood\"s lap is a little much. They have more than adequately communicated with users about this situation. One question though -- did 5.1 expire on the first or the fifteenth?
