Yes, but where is this information stored??? My settings are Imperial inches and fractions. When I used to bring up a cabinet from the Standard Cabinets these numbers were imperial measurements, like 1/4\" and 1 3/8\" or something like that but now they come up with the screwy fractions an...

Yes, I understand that the miters are not shown and for that reason I understand why the dados don't show cut thru on the backs where the miters would be. Like I said however, this part is moot because eCabs won't do the backs like the client does them so the sizes won't be correct anyway. BUT, that...

Thanks Michael, understand. They do make 3 piece backs and I am trying to make eCabs work with their current methods which have been in place for a while. This is not to say they won't change as we go forward, but I just started consulting with them and I want to try and minimize disruption as they ...

Default settings for shelf holes

What are the defaults? It seems that while changing back and forth between Imperial and Metric my defaults have become mangled and my defaults are like 1969/1000\" and 1 961/3699\". And how do I fix it? In other words, if I bring in a fresh cabinet from the Standard Cabinets folder I have ...

Corner cabinet questions

I am having a couple of issues with corner cabinets. 1. When creating the top as a Top Stretcher the back stretcher is created as a single \"L\" shaped piece which takes a big chunk out of the sheet when nested. I know I can make it another material to make it work but it would be nice if ...

Resize cabinet in Custom Layout

It appears that when inserting cabinets in Custom Layout and using the Change Size option to define a custom size, the size of the Toe Kick is lost in the calculation. If I place three different base cabinets in Custom Layout without changing their size they all insert at the correct height. That is...

Thanks Kerry. Hopefully we will see a \"Change Material\" function (highlight, right-click, Change Material, select new material or change width/length) in a future release. Kind of like the resize function with Display Objects but not quite. It needs to be true to the Board Stock Material...

New board stock definitions

First off I will admit I haven't tried real hard to figure this out so I may be missing something and I may not have all of the information. I loaded the 5.1 update and immediately deleted some board stock from my Materials and replaced with generic stock, not THE Generic stock, just generic stock l...

Change Material function

Has anyone else ever encountered the need for a change material function in cabinet editor for display boards and panels and such, like you can do with construction settings for cabinet members and face frames? I just ran into a situation where this would be a huge time saver. I have some cabinets w...

Agreed. Estimating finishing time can be tricky with multistep finishes especially when environmental factors come into play. Most of the cabinet guys I know estimate their finishing cost by square or lineal foot. And have it set up like sheet goods are set up where you can specify finish one or two...

Like I said, it is easy to work around. However, the system will still treat it as board stock. In other words, if the door requires a 14-7/16 wide x 26-5/16 long panel you have to have a 14-7/16 \"board\" stock. There also seems to be a bug in that if you choose to use 5\" board stoc...

Build in house doors

I didn't look for other threads on this and it is an easy work around but I was playing with build in house doors and I can't find a way to get sheet stock for the panel material. No matter which door/panel combination is selected, only board stock can be chosen for the panel. Like I say, it is easy...

I guess I can see a possible issue there. If you have multiple cabinets making an assembly there would be no way to know which cabinet it should be assocated with. However, once it becomes an assembly the added parts do become part of the assembly and don't need to be assocated with a cabinet to be ...

Cabinet Editor suggestion

Wouldn't it make more sense to have parts associated to the cabinet by default? It seems (to me anyway) that when you add a display panel or board, molding, whatever to a cabinet in the cabinet editor that you usually want that part associated with the cabinet. Personally, I can't think of a situati...

The only one I have ever used is the Overhead Bin Hinge from Rockler. It locks in the open position and you lift up on the door slightly to unlock it to close the door. A pair should handle a 5 x 48 door no problem but I don't know the specifications.
