Re: Write cnc file options

I can't go into control nesting while the machine is moving (cs45 gen2), only when block stopped or paused between sheets.

Re: Edge banding the waste board??

Doubt it will help, but it sure won't hurt either. I glue my waste-board down to the spoil-board, solved many problems for me. This sounds more like a problem with the wood than with the vacuum. Vacuum won't do any good if you can't get the material down flat.

Re: override tool auto slection (closest diamiter)

Is this an Ecabinets file or dxf? If ecabinets then the fitness is controlled by constructions setting in the cabinet file, it's not a pocket but a dado. I think to do what you are wanting the depth of the dado needs to be 3/8 and the blind dado tenon thickness needs to equal 1/4 using whatever perc...

Re: override tool auto slection (closest diamiter)

Check control nesting settings, try auto-select option and make sure to not leave too much of a clean up pass so that the bit can still fit within the pocket shape bounds when offset by cleanup amount. You could also check your tool settings and make it so that 1/4" is not available for pocketi...

Re: The lock icon

It's also useful for assemblies and parts made from cabinets, where the wxlxh aren't always what you'd think of as wxlxh and you might not want to accidentally change the wrong parameter.

Re: Object Snap

Try increasing the pick box size so that the point you're trying to snap to is well within the boundary of the box. You don't have to be exact, just as long as the point is withing the box. You need to create edges if there aren't any to snap to.

Re: Cut thru depth wrong

I can confirm that I have had similar problems where some material group settings are applied to other groups (tabs). Only when using multiple materials; if there is only one material everything works as it should. Right now I just ignore group settings in the control parameters when dealing with mu...

Re: Software Request

As far as notes, I sometimes sneak them in to user part names or in the cabinet name. When you put a cabinet in a batch, click on the name and rename it. Assembly marks are also really handy to convey information.

Re: Software Request

I can see an advantage to having it as a official construction method that automatically centers as opposed to our work-around method; less time having to fiddle around in the hole pattern editor.

Re: Manually cutting a shape in middle of board??

The advantage to writing this in g-code would be that you would have more options for making the program with parametric constraints than with the constraint manager in Ecabinet systems; as well as looping, prompts etc. I tend to draw faster than I can write g-code (without making a few bonehead mis...

Re: Software Request

1). Not sure about face frames since I don't use that feature.

2 A-B). You can do this by creating an RTA pattern that is just a pilot hole and use lock dado, 100% thickness. If you just want the hole use RTA as joinery method.

Re: Manually cutting a shape in middle of board??

Oh, I agree, I only do it that way for specific reasons, usually for locating a part using wood dowels instead of the metal fence for flip op or other secondary operations, jigs etc. I actually use G902 for this, I have a shortcut to the M999 macro and just use a minus sign after the x and y locatio...

Re: Manually cutting a shape in middle of board??

Maybe I'm not explaining clearly, but it does work, I do it all the time. The sheet moves and the part is in lower left, in reality you place the sheet in the non moved position, so when cut the part is cut in the offset position. It sounds more complicated than it actually is. I'd post a video if I...
