Re: Order of operations in DXF

Terry, You can order different operations using the same convention you use for chain layers. I.e. Chain compout1... pocket2... centerline3... chain compout4... The only thing that overrides this is if you have "do drills first" set in CN, and that only effects drill operations. Regards, D...

Terry,
That was added in November with the release of CN 5.42. Check the CN manual for "Max Penetration"

CN Chain vs. Outline feed speeds.

I'm probably missing something, but since I can't figure out what, I will punt. The chain layer in this file gets a feed speed of 152 and the outline runs at full speed. (250) Short of setting the "max feed size" to 0, Is there a way to get CN to run the outline and chain layers in this fi...

Re: One Part, More than one Edgebanding, Slab Doors too

Hi Larry,
I need to add one more... Face frame parts with edgebanding currently get the same silent treatment from label printing as slab doors.

i.e. no picture and "EB: none"

Dave

Re: machining laminate sheets

My suggestion(s) really depends on how many of these you must cut, and if they're all the same. 1. Use a freshly machined waste board. If you're not already, Flip the sheet so the center of the sheet wants to pop-up, instead of the edges curling up. (In my experience this has always been face side u...

One Part, More than one Edgebanding, Slab Doors too

For commercial work, we frequently edgeband the bottom edge of wall cabinets ends with one color and the front edge with a different color that matches the doors. The current implemenation of edgebanding on labels prints only one of the EB names. Can we get all the EB names listed? Please. Even &quo...

Larry,
You are correct, it is not the case for me.

Here's my label report re-directed to a PDF printer.

Re: Edgebanding on labels is broken. CN 5.45

Hi Larry, All of the parts are wrong in this cabinet. Starting with sheet 1 part 1, the label designates the edge away from the operator gets edgebanding. The nest diagram shows that edge to be the back edge of the Left end. (edgebanding was placed on the front edge) Sheet1: Part 2:, label designate...

Re: Edgebanding on labels is broken. CN 5.45

Never mind on the "Ebanding:" field designator. I see now that it floats with the length of the EB material name.
The (my?) labels are just getting cut-off a little early.

Dave

Edgebanding on labels is broken. CN 5.45

The labels (30252 address symbol.rpt) are sometimes designating the wrong edges to be edgebanded. The edges in the attached file are all wrong. It would also be helpful if the "EBanding:" field designator were removed or shortened to just "EB:" giving us more than 9 characters fo...

Re: Small Off Cut Parts

Matt, I share your aversion to hockey pucks. I don't know how complex the other machining is on that part, or if it's a standing production part that might we worth investing this effort, but here are a few thoughts. If the part were a DXF file, you could draw and machine the pocket (turning it to d...

Re: eCabinet Systems, the economy, reality and change

Hi Dan, Thanks for the feedback, I thought of you at least four times while I was writing my post. My experience with published API's is dated and goes back to a time when magazine publishers were trying to replace big expensive single use computers with desktop publishing software. Trying to make i...

Re: eCabinet Systems, the economy, reality and change

Hi Ken, Production sharing is my business. It is therefore very much in my interest to support any approach that keeps eCabinets free to end users; and maintains a barrier to anyone (with any old router) competing with me. I'm relieved to hear you're currently maintaining this course. But I understa...
