Re: .2 back with .25 bit ??

I'm pretty sure it's a design issue with the software. It's not made to make cabinets the way I'm used to in another program I guess. All of my dado's ran past the edge of the cabinet to where I could have clean exits instead of having to clean up all the pieces manually. I may have to settle for a ...

Re: .2 back with .25 bit ??

Dennis, I am ok with cutting the back. My trouble is cutting the rabbet in the cabinet side for the back withought changing bits. This is a simple machine with no tool changer, so I want to cut everything with one bit. In the design software, I can make the back rabbet/dado work by making it larger ...

Re: .2 back with .25 bit ??

I am cutting cabinet parts with ecabs and want the bit to cut a rabbet by going off of the part by a little bit. By making a wider dado and hanging the dado off of the edge of the part, it would work, but the software won't allow it. I am running a shopbot with the ecab link.

.2 back with .25 bit ??

Is there a work around for cutting a rabbet for a .2 thickness panel with a .25 bit for a cabinet back? I tried using a .3 thick back and a nagative .1 back offset, but the nest still only shows cutting the rabbet at .2

Thanks

Re: Anyone using Dados on Face Frames?

Gary, Try changing your left end construction second page it is listed at 50%. You will have to figure the percentage to get the 1/2 inch, but it will work.

Re: Error Messages

Roger, I'm not one of the experts, but if you post the file I am pretty sure one of the ecab folks or a guru user will help figure out why. Also knowing which library the cabinets came from will help. The answer is always something simple.

Re: shop bot

Hate it when that happens Damon. Joe, there are some people that use a single spindle on a bot and a 5mm bit for all their cutting. It's a little slower, but no tool change required. It also depends on if you need to make 5 boxes a day or 50. I went with a used prt and can easily see it paying for i...

Re: Resize Cabinet problem

Paul,
Did you resize just before placing it in the room, or after it was already in the layout? It seems to work better for me to resize when I choose the cabinet, but before placing it in the room.

Re: Custom Layout Issue

I just remembered Gary, When I had the old pc, I would put the box in the room and place it anywhere. Then highlight it and holding the shift key and both mouse buttons move it around. It make the slow graphics on that pc a little more tolerable.

Re: Custom Layout Issue

Gary, Somewhere on the ecabinet site there is a link on there with computer spec needs for the program. Dan is pretty quick with the links. HELP DAN!! I had an old slow pc that did the same thing before I upgraded. I went with a refurbished dell from the dell outlet store. I wanted to stay with XP a...

Re: shop bot

Michael, I feel bad for you. Part of your appeal to purchase the thermwood router was for other ecainet users to use YOU for their cutting needs. I spoke with you a few times about it, but decided to buy the bot instead. It wouldn't have made a difference with me, but you may loose some of your acco...

Re: eCabinet Systems is NEW again

Ken, I am very interested and will probalby end up purchasing it. Can you tell us if we can control feed speeds, ramping (very important on a small machine), tabs, oinion skin, spindle speed, and things like that. Maybe just some screen shots of what it will do and how easily we can adapt the cuttin...

Re: eCabinet Systems is NEW again

Ken. I can understand charging for the service. I am just thinking of all the other software that is available on the shopbot site. They have trial versions that allow you to see how it works for you before you spend the money. I think it may make you MORE money by allowing a trial first. I have all...

Re: eCabinet Systems is NEW again

Thanks Dan. Here is the link for everyone.
http://www.ecabinetsystems.com/ecabinet ... t_link.htm
The cost is $1,295.00
I''ve ot to think about this one for a bit.
Any chance of a trial version for us poor cabinet makers to see it fly first?
