Re: cant install control nesting 5.90

Sorry for the troubles. The start of the new year introduced an issue with Microsoft executable signing. We have altered the installer file and it is now available. Please download and try again.

Re: "Duplicate" DXF entities

Glad you were able to accomplish a work around. The tolerance in metric is 0.0254. You bring up a valid argument. We will work on getting the duplicate elimination to be layer specific.

Re: Stuck on scrap part recovery

Hi Joe. We'll fix the Scrap Part Recovery confusion. If you would have clicked OK on the Load screen it would have disabled the Scrap Part Recovery option. I was not able to reproduce the add issue you mentioned. Here are the steps I tried. 1. Load a twd and select Scrap Part Recovery 2. Click OK th...

Load the offending twd in Control Nesting and create an export. Upload this export and we'll locate the issue.

Re: a material nests but wont allow to write cnc

Go to the Tooling dialog and look at the materials listed for each group. Find the group that has the material name giving you the problem. Now go to Settings and select that group. You will then see the settings that are applying for that material name. I'm guessing that 'No Outline Cuts' is select...

Re: a material nests but wont allow to write cnc

Hi Chris. Verify you do not have 'No Outline Cuts' checked for the group setting of that material. The next version of Control Nesting will give a more appropriate error message for this occurrence.

Re: Version 6.0 Build 11

Joe,

Rick informed me that he worked with you on this. Apparently you ran an old beta install at some point that may have caused the issue. I hope you were able to get up and running again. Luckily eCabinet Systems also reloads your data when you open a cabinet, assembly, or job.

Re: Designate tool by name

This is by design. If a tool is given a Tool Name in the Control Nesting Tooling dialog, it will only be used for operations that have been designated with that tool name. As of now, there are only 2 means for this designation. They are through the Tool Name feature in DXF or the KCDw Job Level Inte...

Re: Designate tool by name

Looks like the problem is due to it being a chain layer without a tool diameter specified. This makes Control Nesting select the outline tool. If you designate a tool diameter d#p# (it will not be obeyed due to a name being supplied) it will then jump to the operation tools section and find the tool...

Re: Designate tool by name

Refer to the manual that came with the update. There is a description in the DXF section under Layer Names.
