CNC multiple pass control

Is there a way to control multiple pass cuts other than adjusting the size for multi pass and adjusting the skin thickness? I would like the ability to make three or four passes when cutting hard materials. I'm also looking for methods to control pocketing and cut outs in a similar manner. Any help ...

exporting 3d cabinets

I just finished a simple book case for a customer and he has requested a 3d model of it to place in a 3d model he has of his office. Any ideas on how to do this and what the file format might be?

thanks guys,

If the file location stays with the file can I setup my cabinet libraries on a shared location on one computer and access those cabinets from both workstations?

We now have a couple of designers working with e-cab in our shop and haven't come up with a good way of sharing cabinet libraries.

does anybody have suggestions on how to best do this?

construction details

I received a kitchen layout from another ecab user, is there a way to determine the construction details used for each cabinet? Can you go \"backwards\" and take a cabinet from the layout to the cabinet editor?

OK Forrest now I'm confused again. You wrote \"No matter what the variation (in material thickness I'm assuming you mean) it will machine the dado to fit the tenon.\" If the thickness of the tenon varies with material thickness then how does the CNC know to compensate for that variation wh...

This forum is such a great resource!! What started out as a simple question turned into a string with some interesting nuggets of information and a potential jem for me. It was my understanding that the router refers to the material thickness and cuts from the top down to establish a less than 100% ...

Mike, I think we may be talking apples and oranges here. What you are calling a \"blind dado\" I actually refer to as \"% dado or tenon thickness\". In the software you can have less than 100% thickness in the tenon and slot for either a blind or full dado option. Cutting the ten...

All, thanks for the comment. I guess it's true, timing is everything and waiting for technology to change is stupid because it is always changing and you will always be waiting. I'm leaning towards taking the least risky path of buying the Dell now with XP and upgrading later rather than going with ...

Vista Ready?

I've finally pulled together the budget for a new laptop and so now I'm in reasearch mode. My first question to answer is \"Vista or XP\". I've researched the forum and found conflicting data on success of Ecab on Vista. What I haven't found is a statment from Thermwood that Ecab is \"...

David, I use 23/32 when not cutting on my CNC because it represents the closest resonable fraction to the actual size. When cutting on my NC I use an average actual measured size. I have gone to using \"classic\" core plywood for all of my CNC jobs because the thickness is very consistent....
