Tool Change Problems

I am having some troubles. After a tool change the arm is not retracting because the spindle is not raising up to allow it to retract. The error message say to check and make sure the spindle is set to program, which it is. The next part is that if I reset the machine and turn the swith to manual to...

Help Please

I am having some problems, which are yet to be resolved. I know a lot of the members that don't have machines don't check the \"Thermwood\" forum that often, but I would appreciate you guys taking a look at my posts there to see if anyone else has ran into this before. I appreciate any hel...

Just wanted to update. I started a new catalog of seed cabinets with all my normal hole patterns and configurations, then I applied edgebanding. I kept taking them out to the machine and checking them. After I got a few built up in the catalog I took a batch job out to the machine then I start seein...

Help Please

Is anyone having problems machining cabinets with edgebanding on them. Ever since I started using the edgebanding feature, I am having problems with tenons being cut to wide and dados being treated as a pocket cut(not allowing for my tolerances for fit clearence). I have contacted Thermwood three di...

I am not an expert, I haven't ran the dovetailed drawers yet. The only thing you would have to check is how the code is written, or how the parts are machined. Tool aproach and depart would be one of my biggest concerns.

Like I said, I am not an expert on this just thinking about it.

Michael,

I had a problem with the edgebanding a while back. When nesting the job, it confused my blind dado with a pocket and did not allow for my fit allowances. It also cut the tennons to long they all had to be trimmed. Never did figure out why, but haven't used the edgebanding since.

Carl, You can check your sensors on your arms without waiting for it to happen again. If you go into Windows explorer and drive d: there will be a folder named Siemens, if you open the folder there is a program that will let you toggle your arms. I don't know if I got the names or locations of this ...

I will second the refined MDF, we use it for our doors and paint grade mouldings and parts. It really cuts down on the \"fuzz\", but if you want to cut down on coatings you will still have to do a little sizing. We use ML Cambells Clawlock for priming and you still have to do some glue siz...

That is a hard one to answer. We run Carbide cutters for solid wood. we make alot of curved casing and fluted products. The feed and spindle speed changes with each wood species. I am using Onsrud bits and they have a refference chart in the back of their catalog for speeds. I usually start there or...

Ryan,

That is how I run my MDF doors. I use bobcad to create the .dxf file and use the centerline layer to specify the specific cutters (Whiteside) for the two passes.

Roger,

I purchased one of the Whiteside bit sets, and am very pleased with it. Depending on how many doors you plan to produce you might want to look at diamond tooling.

I have not tried MDF doors using the profile modeler and standard tooling as of yet.
