Conversion varnish
I would like to find out what clear finishes guys out there are using. I been using ML Campbell Krystal for the past several years, but the cost just keeps creeping up. Last I bought was over $170 for a pail. I been playing around with some Becker Ameristar (or AKA Amerivar) and Innovat. My concern ...

Re: Dados and Tenons tight!
When tools get dull, they compress the wood fibers instead of cutting them. After the cut is made, the fibers spring back. Thus dadoes end up slightly smaller, and tongues slightly wider.
My hunch is, you need to sharpen the tooling.
Hope this was helpful.

Re: Time to Complain
Hey Kerry, I haven't had many problems, only it seems to take longer loading and saving when I have several pages of drawings in the LDE. I do not add any handles and only add a very limited amount of other vendor items such as turnings and corbels. The specialty mouldings, such as rope moulding, are...

Oh yea, after thinking a minute, you are really asking two different questions.
And...after thinking for a minute, I need to take a break.

Re: Machine Owners - Non Machine Owners-Production sharing users
Hey Damon. Maybe this should of been broken down into two polls to show how many non-machine owners there are that do not utilize production sharing.
As it stands, you can only select one option. (which makes sense)

Re: Finishing a cabinet
I finish w/ the back off. I figure the time saved in staining and sanding with the back off, more than makes up for any extra time involved. I also feel I can do a better job on the finish with the back off.

Re: Associate to wall Alert
I am having this problem as well. I have some diplay cubes I use as appliances, and they are saved as assemblies. They seem to dissassociate from their respective walls.

Hide lights in LDE
Has anyone noticed that when you hide light fixtures, then take the lay out to the LDE, that the lights reappear? This is a new thing since updating. Before updating, if the lights were hidden trhey would not be seen in the LDE as well. This isn't a big issue, but I was wondering if anyone else has ...

Re: Frame flush to inside
I was wondering what issues you run into when placing the side panels flush w/the inside of the face frame stile. I have always flushed the outside and blocked in for mounting drawer slides. I do not like rear mounting sockets. I feel they are cheap and will fall off/break over time. On non exposed ...

Re: Inset door margins and hinges
When we use the Blum plates that screw to the back of the FF stile, we leave the back off until the plates are attached. We always finish with the backs off, then attach the drawer slides, hinge plates, etc., then apply the back. Way easier to finish w/o backs.

Re: Inset door margins and hinges
Hi Gene, the magic number is 3/32" each side. Take the opening size (height and width) and subtract 3/16" to get the door size. If you have an opening that gets double doors, subtract 1/4" and divide by two. We do a lot of full inset FF using the Amerock hige as well as Blum w/the pla...

We build our own doors, but out source dovetail boxes. I have found that I can get the correct door part sizes for square top doors if I set the tenon and panel clearaces correctly. When building arch top doors, however, I cannot get the correct sizes according to the way we build doors. I find it v...

Counter top problems
I have a job that has a couple of countertops that I can cannot get to load. When I created the tops I changed the image from the marble to a formica color. This top material, however is not a saved material in the define material area. The job saved OK, but when I try to load the job, a box pops up...
