Re: Flip Ops in SB Link
Nat, Are you using the latest copy of the link? It should be 1.23.1. Unless they introduced a new one when I wasn't watching :D Any time you have a flip operation to be done it will be highlighted in green on the sheet view of your nest. In the link settings go to nesting parameters. There is a sett...

Re: Flip Ops in SB Link
Mark Twain said someting to the effect that he had little respect for a man who could only spell a word one way so I have demonstrated my command of spelling with the word "paralllel"

Re: Flip Ops in SB Link
Nat, When you take the partition to the link and nest it the only thing that is being cut on the back of the piece are the KD pockets. In the link in settings select view code before writing to ShopBot On my screen the Kd pockets are parralel to the Y axis. If you write it to the shopbot and then re...

Re: Flip Ops in SB Link
Nat, If you need to cut a single part you would go to your load options, select only the part that you need to cut, then cut it. If it has flip operations then it usually asks you to place the material back side up if flip ops first is selected, I believe if you do not have flip ops first selected t...

Re: Flip Ops in SB Link
Nat, In the link settings there is a button for flip ops first. I use flip ops all the time but I usually do it on a whole sheet so doing it piece by piece is unfamiliar to me. You have to flip your piece on the X axis and you have to place it against your fence which has to be really accurate other...

Re: Nesting Error
Nat,
hope you don't tire of hearing from me. I noticed in your constraint manager that there is a dimesion of .0098 . not sure what that would be. FYI I run a shopbot too.

Re: Slow Cabinet
If you were looking to speed up your existing computer I might suggest increasing your memory from 3 gigs to say 16 gigs but depending on the motherboard, you may or may not be able to do that. I have a dell computer and they put a motherboard in that will not accept a memory upgrade. I upgraded a l...

Re: Shop Cabinet - Top or Side Flush?
Terry, I am guessing that the festool dominoes might be stronger depending on fit. I use the lock dado method because it has proven to be adequate with good construction practices such as using enough KD fittings or screws, glue etc. and it eliminates another process. Once I take the parts off the cn...

Re: Shop Cabinet - Top or Side Flush?
Hi Terry, I have attached a cabinet that I built to store edge banding in. I also set my planer on it then I can roll it out when I need to use it. I would say that putting the top over the sides in this case is stronger for supporting the planer. I am sure that there are many ways to reinforce a ca...

Re: Slow Cabinet
It could be time for a new computer. The cabinet that you presented does not look terribly complex so I wonder what kind of time you wait for other builds to paint themselves on the screen that makes you think this one is so slow ? If other cabinets take a long time then the computer might be at fau...

This is a snip of the computer that I run. I have a 2gig Quadro K2200 workstation video card. This may contribute to the difference.
