Re: Slatwall
I would do that DXF all the way Josh, I haven't done any dxf work yet so I am a bit reluctant to try it on something like this. Maybe eventually I get up the nerve! We use a Thermwood G code program that Doug Gilford from OZ gave us so I can't take the credit. You set up where the first cut starts ...

Re: Slatwall
Josh, I am looking at making some slatwall for the back of a cabinet that has a 1/4" to 3/8" dado with an additional wider slot behind this making a T-shaped slat. This would allow for the slatwall hooks to set in properly. I know I can use an existing sheet of slatwall, but there are not ...

Slatwall
Hi Guys! Has anyone tried to cut slatwall on their cnc? I am designing a cabinet in which I would need to cut slats in the backer. Is this possible? What tooling, programing would be needed?
Thanks in advance!

Re: Ability to Lock Openings
Count me in as well! One of the most frustrating things for me is readjusting the openings between shelves after I change the size of the cabinet. This would be a huge help for the work that we do!!!

Re: G07
Josh, the only thing that my manual says is that it is "undefined." This must be phantom G-code that has a mind of its own.
Has you machine been doing something odd because of it?

Re: Constraint Problem
Kerry, does it make a difference that these cuts are not geometries and that they are profile cuts?

Re: Tool Replacement Reminder
Ryan, when a substitute tool is used, does it have to be the same identical diameter or is there a tolerance within a few thousandths of an inch such as a new 3/8" bit vs. a sharpened 3/8" bit?
Thanks for your help on this!

Tool Replacement Reminder
Is there a setting that will pop up a reminder for a tool when the set hours count down to 0? I thought there was something, but I haven't been able to find it.
Thanks,

Re: XP Series from Vortex
Thanks Forrest & Gary for posting your experiences with the XP bits. We tend to rely more on the hours of run time, like David, because from sheet to sheet the run time can vary drastically. Cutting closet components and drawer boxes really gives a variety of sizes. I believe the XP bit would cu...

Re: Edge Banding
My experience has been that adding edge banding to "wall cabinets" causes the cabinet to lose it properties. I have spoken with Scott about this and I believe it will be fixed in the next release.

Re: XP Series from Vortex
Thanks guys for the info! We'll try it out and see how it goes. I spoke with Vortex and they told me that the change in design was the main reason for the longer life. I trust that with this we can get our per sheet bit cost down which would be nice.
Thanks again!

Re: XP Series from Vortex
Thanks Forrest for the input! Do you keep track of the hours that you run these bits for? If so, what was the change?
