Re: Y axis Out of bounds

Tim, Thanks for the reply. It is same spot every time. I actually took chain out of program and it advanced but now hangs on another chain some 50 chains later, same issue. Took that out and advanced another ways through prorgam. I have Thermwood looking at it and sent all the files. I wondered if a...

Y axis Out of bounds

Has anybody got any insight into why we could be running along machining a part where there are several of same part on a sheet and all at once we get "Y axis out of bounds"? It is in the middle of the sheet, we get about 60 pcs per sheet and it is the same one every time. It is in the 5th...

Temp folder error

Program runs OK until I go to nest a job. When I hit Nest, it does normally looking fo rduplicate parts, etc but then gives me an error message reading "Directory: c\programdata\thermwood\ecabinetsystems\. Cannot create the temporary sub-directory" and when I click OK to that it says "...

Re: Small part hold down on a nested bed

Neville,, we use the cnc to make carved cutting boards for our clients. We do it by making a blank of the same size for each one, cut the outline into a melamine sheet and then inserting the blank into the hole. The melamine holds tight and the blank fits tightly into the hole (use shims if necessar...

Re: Common stile between two cabinets

Greg, if I understand the situation correctly, we work around this by making a 72" wide cabinet and at each 24", we would put in two partitions, one tab right, one tab left and put the "gap" between them at 0.001". Software works as long as gap is some positive number but in...

Re: parts nested

On the nesting page, go to "Filter" and take them out by clicking in box. Then re-nest the job.

Re: keyboard trackpad

Stuart, ours tends to do this in very humid weather. Not sure if in hardware or just the surface and finger dirt. Best success we have had is to restart things after we get to stopping point. Dust on pad or fingers is a problem too. We have been living with this for a long time and it is not getting...

Re: what is the best and least expensive wood you have used

Michael,
Basswood is our choice and is great carving wood, no splinters, light and machines like butter. It is less $ than maple where we are. It is really soft though so handling is key after carving.
Hope your project goes well.

Re: YouBuild status

Neville, You Build died a couple months ago. We signed to be a cut center but never got an order. I think the concept is sound but word never got out it existed so no customers. I think Thermwood has offered their new concept Cut Center so people could go into a store who owns a Thermwood, plug in t...

Re: How many cabinet makers out there?

David, been using eCabs and making cabinets since 2003. I fall into Will's Owner category and so I personally haven't made too many cabinets recently. I do my fair share of programming though. And we check the Forum pretty much daily because we learn a lot from it.

jagged arcs

I had a customer send me his lettering files. He is an architect and is using some modified font instead of pre-loaded one so he sent them in Autocad file, I converted them in Mastercam and went to cut them. The arcs are now a lot of jagged straight sections instead of a smooth arc. Do I need to use...

Re: Machining Pocket Screws

Solution: Scott was most helpful as always. My error was I did not read the manual for this new feature. I needed to name tools for this and when I did, success. Go to Thermwood/software manuals/control nesting and then look up "pocketscrew" and it will guide you through it. It is not over...
