XP Series from Vortex

Has anyone purchased the new "extreme performance compression spiral" tools from Vortex and used them? They say that the life is supposed to be double if not triple the life of a comparable Vortex (non XP) bit.

Any insight on this?

Re: Unstable ecabs

When I was using McAfee it was causing odd things to happen at odd times. Working with Scott Vaal we came to that conclusion. I have since used AVG which worked great and now I am using Vipre which is really good.

Re: Can some one help me to add face frames and doors to the

Create a new cabinet and delete everything but the face frame. Then you will rotate it and align it to be back of you existing cabinet. Then save it as an assembly.

If you need, post you cabinet and we can help further.

Re: Low activity on the forum

I would agree with Rob and Mike. I as well check the forum almost every day. Business has picked up for us so it lends less time to give towards the forum. The most likely reason is as mentioned, the program is working quite well. So a lot more :D and a lot less :wall: !!!

Re: Flip Ops First

What is the advantage/difference of trimming two or three sides? We have only ever used the 2 edge trim. I haven't seen the advantage of a 3 edge trim. I guess the advantage of 2 edge vs. 3 edge is the less time to mill, unless someone else has an idea. My flip ops are ending up offset 1/8 of an in...

Re: DXF File nest issue

Sure have with the same result. I ended up solving the problem by turning off any grain direction in my material, but I still dont understand why the part was rotated. The grain should be oriented vertically (x) shouldnt it. It sounds like it should have. This would be good to send to Thermwood to g...

Re: DXF help please

Hi Jason! I had the same results. I was able to cut the holes, but when "creating the part using a closed contour" the "next" button would come up, but the closed contour wouldn't turn green and when clicking the next button, nothing would happen. Not sure what is going on. -John

Re: Flipping parts by the sheet

The sheet flip-op has been a great asset for us! We make blind dado drawer boxes and it really comes in handy there. We tend to create a job of drawer boxes as opposed to having all the drawer parts nested in with the cabinets. This consolidates the flip ops to less sheets. While we were at Dale, IN...

Hi Jay!

I downloaded the file and in place of the comma in the file name it added a "%2." I am wondering if having a comma in the file name is an issue.

The Thermwood guys will probably have an answer to this!

Re: Cab # on parts when printed

I have not used the flip op first feature, I usually jump on new features but decided to see how this one turned out. Sounds like it is working well for you. Looks like it is time for me to investigate and start using the feature. We try to avoid flip ops, because of accuracy problems, mostly in ar...
