Hey Al, Hoops is an independent company that supplies 3D rendering components to design software companies. http://developer.hoops3d.com/video/hoops3daf_demo.html Thanks, Rick! NOW some of the stuff makes some sense. I think that I REALLY showed that my knowledge of some of this stuff needs some po...

Re:

I think the performance testing for the video cards was based on HOOPS performance, and not the LightWorks performance. All the 3D rendering in eCabinets is done via HOOPS api. The 2D Presentation rendering is done via LightWorks api. Rick, I think you know your stuff, based on your comments here. ...

Terrific, Kerry!

Other duties have kept me away, and I almost missed this one. Thanks for sharing - it gives many of us something to not only think about, but to shoot for.

Thanks, Dan.

I was wondering, as some members have reported problems when using some of the (older) USB-1 jump drives, as I recall.

Re:

You should use the Backup My Files functionality located in the File menu. This will hold all of your settings as well as your files so that you can restore them at a later time if needed. Thanks, Larry! I tried this for the first time earlier this week - it was fast, convenient, and a great tool t...

Re: Dell M 90 & Quadro Fx3500 verdict..

...The most important thing however is that in graphics performance it does not perform any better than other cards I have used, it is in fact worse than cards not recommended by the eCabs team. It is some 80% slower in rendering a presentation than my nVidia NX7900gt with 256M ram. So bottom line ...

Bev,

Nick makes an excellent point.

Have you been working in the eCabinet Systems programs all day? Sometimes, rebooting might help with this type of problem, especially if it IS related to memory issues.

I am grasping for straws, though, as I have never seen this problem on my system.

Welcome to the forum, Bev!

It sounds like you might have a graphics card issue. Please provide some more information, such as:

1. Graphics card, and dedicated graphics memory

2. Total system memory

3. Resolution of the *.jpg images you are using

I would not know where else to start.

No need to hold the SHIFT key, folks.

Are you using MACs, by any chance???

GOTCHA, right?

Al

P.S.: I wonder if there is SOME setting in the eCabinets.ini file that accounts for these differences?
