Re: Please help?!?! (non-nesting drawer box parts)
Another way that I know that will automatically exclude parts from being nested but will still give you part sizes in the cut-lists is as follows: Define a material with all the required characteristics as you require: thickness, color, etc but make the sheet size 1" x 1". Assign this mate...

Re: CN / small parts / tabs
One problem with tabs, even if they are properly distributed around a part, is that if they do not line up with the tabs on the adjacent parts.... well they get "disconnected" when the next part is machined. Now that may not be a problem for the part that was previously machined, but the c...

Re: CN wish list
Regarding the "NEST X" and "NEST Y" selection... It might be an idea to have a " BEST OF X or Y " (or "Automatic Nest X/Y Selection"). Control Nesting (CN) could actually try to optimize using both the " NEST X " and " NEXT Y " settings and...

<SMILE> Google Translate (or similar) can be helpful - but really only when someone really appreciates the attempt that you are making. There are some grammatical and other errors in the above due to the automated translation functions, but the points were made and seem to have assisted the client. ...

Re: Fly cutting sacrificial sheets
Mike, Great way to create a "re-laminat-able" spoil board :!: . That would certainly reduce/eliminate the curl, etc... Some people might figure on just starting off with a 1" thick sheet of MDF as the main and only spoil board. But your technique reduces the frequency of having to dis...

Re: Fly cutting sacrificial sheets
Nick, Main Spoil Board- Our experience here in Canada with our customers indicates that a new main spoil board should always be machined on BOTH sides. The surfaces on both sides of the sheet are somewhat "sealed" in the manufacturing process. The surfacing of both sides opens up the fiber...

Re: Display But Not Cut A Panel
Leigh, Besides the filtering method suggested above, you can also "automate" the process by defining the SHEET MATERIAL size as 1" x 1" (or similar very small size). Again, the part will show up on the cut list, so I usually use a name that properly describes the material but I t...

Re: full dados on front edge
Here is my attempt at the "Six Sided Cube". I closed off the "front opening" with a Stretcher with Blind-Dadoes on all four edges. I then used the Adjust Stretcher feature to lock it to the FRONT and to the SIDES. Don't forget that now, since it is a six sided box, you can manipu...

CORRECTION - Angled Front Corner Cabinet
Please forgive me... It appears that I was way to quick on my analysis... I made the mistake to not RETURN to the MAIN Cabinet Editor area to review the results of my settings. It seems that the Left and Right Reveals/Gaps are not recalculated until you return to the main area of the Cabinet Editor....

Angled Front Corner Cabinet
John,
I did a quick test here on my system and it appears that neither the Left/Right Gaps (if the Door/Drawer is inset) or the Left/Right Reveals work on my system. (The Top and Bottom Gaps/Reveals seem to \"respond\".)
Hmmmm..... Anyone else?

More Hinges Please....
Thom, As you are aware, in eCab the 3rd Hinge is added when the door height meets/exceeds the \"Door Height Required to Add Center Hinge\" parameter found on the [Add Door/Drawer Settings] in the Construction Settings dialog. I had previously made the following suggestion - If this paramet...

Pocket Screw \"Slot\" machining on a Thermwood
David, I've seen this done on a Thermwood. One method (the esiest and most affordable) is by programming a linear cutting move (the length and final depth will determine the angle of the slope) that starts just above the material and ramps down to the final depth that you require. The sloped slot is...
