Re: Layers
Kim, As you know, during our email exchange last week we sent you a fairly concise guide as to Layer Names and the requirements when used with Control Nesting . (" Layered DXFS - Detailed (2016-03-10).pdf ") Layer/level names themselves are not solely a function/feature of Control Nesting ...

Re: Profile Modeler MDF door corners
Sorry Stuart...
I would have to go with Forrest's suggestion. Most of our customers up here in Canada doing similar doors are using Panelmetrix.

Chris,
In the Control Nesting [Settings] dialog, set the "Keep Recut History" to 0 days and [Clean] the existing History file.

Re: Cnc is loading jobs slow and slow in general
I am not sure if it has been suggested yet, but... If you are NOT using the "Recut" feature, set the "Keep Recut History" to 0 days and [Clean] the existing History file. The behind the scenes management of this HISTORY database as well as its growing size can slow things down. I...

Re: Part exists but failed to nest
Stuart, My only thought is that the "nesting" within eCabinets Systems may not be totally identical with that within the latest versions of Control Nesting. There could be something that was "modified" in the Control Nesting optimization/nesting that was not addressed within the ...

Re: Hinged Doors
Just putting in my two cents (err nickel - Canadian cents are no more!)... We have a client that uses top hinged doors in certain upper cabinets. Apart from the given upper hinges and the machining required, there system also has mounting holes (pattern) for an assisting mechanism on both gables. So...

Re: "Duplicate" DXF entities
Jeremy, Well, 0.01mm is just under 0.0004". Perhaps you can try 0.03mm which would would result in an approximately 0.0012" "shift" - something that Control Nesting (CN) may better differentiate AND is really not that much of a variance when machining. Note: I have not tried this...
Re: fixturing
Check out NEMI... http://www.nemi.com/grid_table_fixturing.htm The beauty of this system is that with a full NEMI GRID mounted on your table, you can always run a D-SEAL around the outer perimeter, remove all the plugs and place a full SPOILBOARD on top in order to continue to use the machine as a f...

Re: Flips not lining up?
We have been directing our clients to use a "flip fence" exactly like that for almost 20 years. It was necessary to perform back machining operations for mullion doors produced with Panelmetrix. We currently provide our clients with a small program that will allow them to create a "fl...

Re: Best Method Of Inverting Z axis
Be careful to review the other axis as well... Thermwood's machines have used "right-hand rule" for decades. You will want to check and see if you software "rotates" the X and Y axis in order to stay relative to the +Z downward direction. (This would be "Inverted right-hand ...
