Thanks Mark... Certainly that makes sense...I did look at the bits before we sent them and they didn't appear \"burnt\"...in fact looking and feeling them I even questioned that they needed to be sharpened. However the guys running the machine assured me they needed to be resharpened. Agai...

Thanks Nick... I guess I wouldn't be surprised with what you're saying if I had simply gone to a local fellow to have the bits resharpened - but this was the first time the bits have been sharpened and we sent them back to the vortex factory for sharpening. I guess at this point we should make a cal...

resharpened bits...

We recently received several 3/8 compression bits back after having them resharpened (vortex bits). They cut great in 3/4 material, but they are tearing up the cross grain edge of 1/2 plywood so badly we've changed to a down shear for outline cuts. They cut fine on 1/2\" before being resharpene...

Paul is correct...once you load the first file, either a .twd or .dxf than theoretically you can \"add\" as many additional .twd or .dxf files as you need/want and then write them all to a single CNC file. This is all done at the controller level and I say theoretically, because recently s...

That's correct Dan...

basically, each operation is defined by a layer; the outline, drilling, dado - etc.

Yes, we can load dxf files directly into our nesting software on the Thermwood controller and cut your dxf files on the machine. The files must be formated correctly with each layer following the Thermwood naming conventions, but they are really quite simple.

We've used the puzzle joint face frames for some painted projects...basically we've used 18mm Baltic Birch so there are no voids and a nice straight product. The inside of the frame has simply been sanded and painted - a few of the pieces have been edge banded on the outside, but assembled first. Mark

Thanks

I loaded the update last week and utilized the new material filter on several jobs - kudo's... But I've got to tell you...you made my day today! I went into the off fall list to load several off falls from the last job and low and behold I found a new search field - now that really made my day! Than...

Hey Georgi...welcome to the club! Heart was racing a bit eh? I know the feeling all too well! At one point or another, everyone will make a mistake like that. The last time I didn't pay attention to what I was doing, I slammed a 1/2\" end mill into the #1 position with another bit already in th...

Hey Mike... You shouldn't be working so late.....nor should I - it's Friday night! I got the same error when changing my drawer box to 15mm Baltic Birch...however, even though it said reverting back to the original box it appears that it did not. Also when I check the parameters they were still set ...

No Gene the part editor won't add anything to the width...I think for what you're trying to do the easiest thing is to stick with the 1/4\" back set the inset and add the horizontal stretchers. Then simply add the 3/4\" corner as a display panel and rip the 45° bevels on the table saw. The...

Hey Gene

If you take the part into the contour editor and draw the triangle with straight lines, connect the corners and then cut the part out using the Cut/Pocket using closed contours method it will cut it clean.

Hey Gene... Well, I thought with the stretchers it was going to be relatively easy, but the only way to add a vertical stretcher to the back corner area limits it to the width of the corner gap so it's not wide enough to cut your 45° miters. But as you can see from the illustration attached a displa...
