Viewing corner cabinets
Hi, I'm working with a corner cabinet, and am having frustration trying to place a display panel. Since the corner cabinet always orients itself on a diagonal to the screen, I can't use the standard X/Y/Z axes to align objects. Everything is 45degrees off - does anyone have suggestions? Or could I s...

cannot dimension off display parts
Hi - this seems to have just popped up, maybe since the new version - I cannot pull a dimension off of a display cube in LDE. Also countertops - for some reason I can't pick a corner. When I press M to show nodes, they don't appear on display cubes or countertops. Help?

Re: Why won't this nest?
Clients want a horizontal grain on everything, including the refrigerator side panels. A standard grain (4x8) sheet stock won't cover a frig panel that's 635mm long x 2300mm wide, so I had to generate a new one with cross grain configuration. Whoopee!

Re: Why won't this nest?
Weird again - it works for me (once I corrected my door material choice). The cross-grain material (Oak rift - dark ceruse sideways) appears on the nest diagram correctly. When mounting doors, I have to change the grain 90degrees so it goes horizontal. Same is true for the cabinet sides - in const s...

Re: Why won't this nest?
Ok, starting to make more sense - I had incorrectly made the doors out of the standard 4x8 stock, not the cross-grain 8x4 stock. So I was unable to nest the tall doors properly. However, it seems weird that when you guys loaded the job, the doors weren't mounted cross-grain, and went ahead and neste...

Re: Why won't this nest?
Hey Kerrie - that's strange. The doors are supposed to be cross-grained. They should nest with the "dark ceruse sideways" stock, not the plain old "dark ceruse" stock. So something still ain't right....

Why won't this nest?
Howdy - I've created a cross-grain sheet stock to get some long horizontal-grain panels for this kitchen. I've created some cabinets with side panels and doors with continuous grain. When I nest, the side panels will nest just fine, but the doors won't. Any ideas?

Re: Major problems with batch job
Yah, I keep learning that one. Still, shouldn't cause these problems. Thanks - Jason

Major problems with batch job
Where to start - I had this file almost finished, and then.... I decided I needed to change the thickness of material from 18mm to 19mm (the actual thickness was 1mm more than I'd planned). I closed the file, went to material settings and updated the material. Restarted the file, it told me to choos...

Face frame cutlist not working
Hey folks - I rarely cut face frames, which is why this is only becoming apparent now - am I missing something in the cutlist for solid stock? It will give me the "linear inches" of material, but not actual cutting lengths. Is the "stick length" supposed to be the actual cut leng...

Re: Nesting dimensions reversed
Yah, I'm used to dimensions shown as you say, in relation to the grain of the piece. But I've gotten accustomed to ecabs method, and it makes sense - sometimes the material has no grain direction, and it takes less thinking to cut if the dimensions are related to the diagram. I want to minimize the ...

Re: Nesting dimensions reversed
Sorry, I'm not quite catching that - are you saying the job is nesting correctly for you?
Normally in nest diagram, it lists dimensions as you see them on the diagram, not related to grain direction. Is this correct, or has my stuff been messed up for years?
Thanks - Jason
