We just participated in our "Home Builders" show recently. We wanted to show that we were capable of more than just cabinets and wanted to also create some interest in the carving aspect of the router. The following piece is what we came up with for the show. The first two days of the show...

I too would like the multi-pass option...often I'll use artcam for simple things because I can control the depth of cut on the tool. Most of those things would be simpler done in eCabinets if we had the option of depth of cut per pass.

I guess I shouldn't have said I don't know how to do it with eCabinets and rolling nest...as we have done exactly the same thing Glenn has done with the wasteboard thickness on several occasions.

Joe...as far as I know you can only get two passes if nested in eCabinets. They may be able to help you with a "cut through" code - I know when you download the rental components they have a variable setting for the number of passes to cut through the material...but it may be written in a ...

As Mike said, this problem has been on going for some time (well over a year now)...Forest was the one to warn me about it and suggested I determine an avg "mic" for the materials I use and then construct my libraries with those materials and thicknesses...we use 0.02 on our fit clearances...

Okay...so partitions get doubled up - and I assume their not fasten to the face frame or if they are how? And what about finished ends...did I read earlier you do a lock mitre joint with the face frame - so you use 3/4 material (?) and what - shim it at the back and fasten it from inside the cabinet...

Does the "Ds" stand for down shear?
Do you use the down shear for cutting dado's in the rest of your cabinet files as well and the comp's for only through cuts?

Damon There is a known problem with the dado and tenons when changing material thickness headed into the twd file. The best work around to this is to find an avg. thickness for all your materials and build your cabinets accounting for the actual material thickness. Sorry you found out about it the h...

I really don't understand the advantages of this construction...sure I recognize we could use the router to drill hardware holes and installation of the hardware would be a little quicker/simpler(?). But overall this construction seems to use more material and waste valuable space. If the goal is to...

Like Terry said, they have a free program you can download to cut their files with...I haven't used it because we have artcam which what we use for most of our carving work.

They have some great files there!

I guess I've missed something...but when I want to run drawer boxes for others I simply open a drawer box into the cabinet editor, save it as an assembly and after creating all the sizes I need add them to the batch from the assembly folder and send it to the machine.
