Re: Black screen

With an open hand, whack the side of the controller several times. Won't necessarily fix anything, but sometimes it makes me feel better.

Re: Black screen

Unlplug the monitor from the video card, remove and reinsert the video card, and plug the monitor back in.

Re: Top of prints get cut off..

Meant to say also: When you print it to PDF form like that, you can then print to your printer, sometimes with more options/better results than printing straight from ecabs.

Re: Top of prints get cut off..

Derek, I just nested a sample job, and clicked thru until I had a single part on the screen with all the dimensions (same as you're doing I believe), clicked the print button, and selected Print To PDF (you must have a PDF program installed to allow this, I'm using Primo PDF). It actually printed th...

Re: Problem with finish pass

Bit or machine deflection. If you do your initial pass as a climb cut, and final pass as conventional cut, it won't leave that lip.

Re: "Air cut"

Rather than messing with your program, simply change the wasteboard thickness in Machine Variables.

Re: Cutting Plexi glass

What happens more often than snapping bits is the stuff melting as it cuts and re-sticking to the edge. Nearly impossible to clean up after that happens. So to be safe, we usually do multiple passes at maybe 1/8" max cutting depth. Do this in a climb direction down to the skin pass, then do you...

Re: What methods do you use to hold down small parts?

ANY MEANS NECESSARY

Never used double sided tape though. We have used contact adhesive, nails, screws, clamps, and hands.

This is an interesting method, thanks for sharing. And I hope someday that guy will flycut or replace his wasteboard...OMG I almost had a heart attack when I saw it.

Re: Windows 10 Pro Display Issues

Welcome to the wonderful world of 4k resolution. I had the same issues when I switched to a 4k display. I'm betting that you have your or display scaling cranked up, just to make the tiny tiny letters legible. Doing that makes the fonts in eCabs large enough to read, but the rest of the interface do...

Re: Vacuum pump malfunction

Without opening the vacuum ports, it's like trying to crank a car while it is in gear. We always open the vacuum ports on the table before starting the pumps - in our case, they will pop the breaker every time if we don't. It's much better to start the motor under as little load as possible, which y...

Re: Cordless barcode readers

We're using a cordless scanner. Granted, it is transmitting to our office computers and not directly to the machine, but we have never had it interfere with the machine in any way. Don't see how it could, really.

We had exactly the same problem when we switched to the desktop software. I can't remember what the fix was right off the top of my head, but here is the thread:

You need to go to the edgebanding editor, not the shelf editor. Click on the Add Part Components, and I think that is what you're looking for:

Re: Kinda off the subject of eCabs - TWD CNC machines

Compressed air is used when changing tools. Not exactly sure how the mechanism works, but since it is blowing thru the spindle during a tool change, you want clean dry air. (Do as I say, not as I do  ) That is all the air is used for, unless you have the automatic/switch operated vacuum val...
