Problem with formula

Postby Kerry Fullington » Mon, Dec 23 2019, 10:39AM

In Custom Layout, Create a wall
Place the Std Base Framed on the wall
Take the base cabinet into the Cabinet Editor
Go to the Shelf Partition Editor
Remove the shelf
Add a partition
Select the partition and co to Construction Settings
Click the Formula button for bottom inset
Enter this formula -(ToeKickHeight+DeckThickness but don't close the formula with the ) bracket
Click OK then click Cancel to exit the Formula Editor
This locks up eCabinets so you have to use the Task Manager to shut the computer down.

I know I need the other bracket but in a hurry I have done this several times. You lose all your work to this point because of the lockup.

Kerry,
I did the same thing as you and got the same results. What you may have noticed by now is that when you attempt to cancel or O.K. there is a dialogue box that appears stating that you have an uneven number of parenthesis. This dialogue box remains hidden behind the partition settings dialogue box and you cannot see it, therefore you cannot hit O.K. and cancel. If you move the partitions dialogue box sideways you will see it sitting centered on the screen and if you hit the O.K. button you can back out as you would normally without using task manager. THe programmers will have to make an adjustment so the parenthesis message appears in front of the partitions formula box rather than being hidden behind it.

Merry Christmas to all.

Thanks Ralph,

sorry so long for a reply.

Now that I know it is there I can get to it to exit without shutting down. You are correct that the error popup should be on top.

Kerry,

I see the same thing here. I'll let the software engineers know so they can take a look at it.
