Can't Nest

Post by Mark Bell »

I have a new install V5.2 build 6,
My nesting seems to have broken and i can't see why. when i click the nesting button it says "processing" very quickly and then renders nothing on the screen.
I thought there might have been a problem with my custom cab. But pulling a stock cab in does the same thing.

Any ideas?

Thanks
Mark

Mark, is this a job file? Or a cabinet in the Cabinet Editor?

Rick,
I have tried it both ways. I had this working once but had some sheet stock incorrect, So i backed out and change the stock. Went back in and now get nothing. I have since deleted all stock and re-enter but still no luck.

I am thinking i busted something seein that even a stock ecab cab will not nest.

Ok started from scratch with a new job file and i can now nest the project. But what causes some items not to nest.
This project has a 1/4 cherry ply back that can't be nested. This isn't a big deal but just wanted to know why. I have see other items like this before

How wide is your cabinet? You are not going to get something to nest if it is bigger than the sheet material. You can also have problems if you switch back and forth from inches to metric. I have seen people accidentally add material that was 48 x 96, but since they were working in the metric mode, they created a rather small 48mm x 96mm panel. Hard to nest on that.

Make sure your grain direction is not wrong for your back panel.
